He is killing me in Victoria, all cheekbones and smoulder. I know it isn't exactly historically accurate but my word, you do wish he and Vic would throw caution to the wind and at least kiss!

First saw him in Middlemarch in the 90s, and 20 years later there's still few actors who can smoulder and fill a pair of britches like he can, is there?

He is utterly gorgeous. I first saw him in 1993 on the stage in 'Arcadia' by Tom Stoppard. Our seats were very close to the stage; I was entranced.

So happy that Rufie (who I have thought marvellous for years) is getting some love.

May I humbly recommend to those who haven't seen it 'Charles Ii: The Power and the Passion'

Sorry but to me his face is cadaverous and his voice is horrible. He looked better when he was younger but still had that awful voice.

He does often play a baddie yes. He's toecurlingly cruel and bastardy in a film I can't remember the name of, about a magician/illusionist. He plays a Prussian aristocrat.

I was a bit put off him when he played Agemnon in the TV film Helen of Troy. Agemnon is evil and he pulled off the character VERY well.
But I recently watched Pillars of the Earth, where he is playing a lovely man and have warmed to him once more.

They should never have cancelled Zen. On a cold winter's night, it was Mummy's little pick-me-up to watch Rufus in a nicely cut Italian suit having hot sex with women in elegant silk blouses on attractively designed furniture, and then drinking espresso in the sunshine in a lemon grove. Apparently there was also a plot of some kind .

I speak as someone who watched him in Arcadia in its original run (breeches - went to see it three times) and in Rock'n'Roll (corduroy jacket and implausible Czech accent), and in Old Times (too many cigarettes).

Victoria annoyed me again today.... Chap playing Albert is hot too though lol

I wouldn't say no to him or Aidan Turner, tbh, although he's nearer my age so I'll settle for him. They are both just ridiculously goodlooking. You get the impression it's starting to piss Aidan off a bit that he's just regarded as crumpet, but I suspect Rufus is above caring.

I'm not a fan of celeb crushes but I would ruin him completely. He gets more beautiful with age, which is crushing because I started out ok and now look like Kevin the Teenager (I'm a lady, and that look is neither acceptable nor wanted).
