To put my Tassimo in the bedroom?

I've been thinking about moving the Tassimo into the bedroom, but have been told it's disgusting by a couple of people.
I can't help but fantasise about lattes on tap whilst lying in bed watching Netflix though! AIBU?

That sounds like a brilliant idea, and I am now bemoaning the fact that two awkwardly placed plug sockets mean it would not be feasible in my room Sad
The thought of having coffee in bed without having to risk sneaking down the hall and waking my daughter- the stuff dreams are made of!

BagPusscatnip · 02/09/2016 21:10

You've just given me a brilliant idea OP. I'm moving my Nespresso to the bedroom!

maisybobbins · 02/09/2016 21:14

I read title and though Tassimo was one of those posh weighing scales. Was going to reply YABU! Why would anyone do that?

But a coffee machine? Oooh yessss! Flat white for me.

utter genius

Dawndonnaagain · 02/09/2016 21:21

I am seriously thinking of purchasing the aldi version of this, specifically for early morning coffee and late night chocolate drinks!

ThornyBird · 02/09/2016 21:22

That is a brilliant idea!

Perfect idea. I have a cheap one cup coffee machine on my bedside table. I top it up before I go to bed and buy the little pots of long life milk from the pound shop. In the morning I switch on the news and have a quick wee before relaxing back in bed for 20 mins. Also having my bedroom in the loft, it saves two flights of stairs for that first coffee.

My mum has had one in her room for years! Best thing ever! Problem is now we now go in and make ourself one! The amount of times my mum has blurry eyed looked at me as I make my coffee at 2 am

cemay · 02/09/2016 22:00

This is my only thing, I'll have to bring it down to make coffee for guests...or buy another for the kitchen!

Genius idea! I have a nespresso machine though, I don't know if you can't get latte pods for it,will have to investigate, if not I guess I could get some little long life milk pods.

Middleoftheroad · 02/09/2016 22:02

I have a Tassimo downstairs and a Flavia machine by my bed too. Bliss!

mygorgeousmilo · 02/09/2016 22:08

YANBU I am making a big dramatic plan, and telling anyone that'll listen that I'm doing this! Kids go back, paint bedroom, coffee machine upstairs, must order mini UHT milks like a hotel, done. Best idea ever! Grin

ShelaghTurner · 02/09/2016 22:57

Mine's coming up to the bedroom when the weather gets colder. Marvellous idea.

FeedMeAndTellMeImPretty · 02/09/2016 23:11

Bloody genius. I put an old kettle in my room with cups, tea bags etc. I even bought some little long life milk sachets as I knew I'd forget to bring up milk at night for the morning.

However it showed up just how infrequently I get a lie in, so I got rid! If you have the opportunity for a latte in bed, knock yourself out!

glueandstick · 02/09/2016 23:24

That's it. I'm asking for one for Christmas so I can have it in the study as its two flights of stairs to the kitchen.

I'm so excited now.

Iggii · 02/09/2016 23:28

My parents had a teasmaid. A tassimo on a timer would be even better.

HKHKHR · 02/09/2016 23:31

Poundland sells the mini UHT milks in case anyone needs any. Smile

YelloDraw · 02/09/2016 23:31

Hotel rooms have them so it's not disgusting. Just strange to drink coffee in bed in the evening!

liz70 · 02/09/2016 23:42

We used to sleep in an upstairs bedroom before we gave them all over to our DDs. We had a Morphy Richards gadget which made fresh coffee for DH on one side, and tea for me on the other. BTW milk in a mug is fine overnight unless you have your bedroom heated to some ridiculous temperature. We have no heating overnight, so no problem.

I have a dream of having one of the one cup kettles in a dressing room so I can get dressed and have my morning tea without even having to go to the kitchen. I'm so glad I've read this thread and others have made my dream a reality! Grin Brew

Xmasbaby11 · 03/09/2016 00:02

Excellent idea. I really want one now!

TwoLittleBlooms · 03/09/2016 00:02

Oh that is such a good idea, I would love a coffee machine in the bedroom so that I don't have to endure people before I have had required morning coffee or three!
