To ask dp to keep his shirt on?

He's such a lovely man but has this real 'thing' about taking his shirt off whenever there's a bit of sun.

We were walking his dog on Monday in a local stately home/gardens and - shirt off. Sit outside in a beer garden? Shirt off. Outdoor concert? Off comes the shirt!

I hate it. I find it trashy Blush and just, I don't know, a bit crude really.

I've asked him to keep it on and he will but makes it clear he doesn't want to.

Maybe its just the area i live in but Its never been an issue here. Growing up there wasn't a summer where a man had a top on, beer garden, park, gardens and even shops, if it was hot all the men had their shirts off. We must look so trashy to everyone else Grin

Yadnu, although I hate it when dh even sits in lounge with no top on.

HarmlessChap · 01/09/2016 11:05

I wouldn't have my top off in public other than at the swimming pool or at the beach, however I don't really know why. I much prefer shorts whenever its warm enough and like to get the sun on my legs and I am reasonably happy with my body so have no hang ups about it being on display. I guess its just convention and probably something snobby or prudish, that its a bit common or trashy to have too much on display.

That said if I had rippling six pack and matching pecs I'd probably be quite proud of it and might want to have my shirt off to put it on display more often.

I'm going against the grain, but I think you're being unreasonable. It sounds controlling and snobby to me. You've asked, he's said no - move on.

Depends, fit or fat?
