To want everyone to stop it with the crossings out?

If you have something to say in a post, can you please just say it, rather than doing the intensely annoying whispering-behind-your-hand crossing out thing? I wouldn't mind so much if everyone always used it correctly but people are using it for whole paragraphs of pertinent information. It's not an effective replacement for wit.

ParanoidGynodroid · 30/08/2016 21:25

The only thing wrong with crossing out is that I can't do it anywhere else.

Tartyflette · 30/08/2016 21:30

How do you do it elsewhere, in emails, for example?
think it would come in handy

whitehandledkitchenknife · 30/08/2016 21:31

Message read and understood OP not going to take any notice though

HerestoyouMrsRobinson · 30/08/2016 21:31

Niklepic · 30/08/2016 21:31

WhatamessIgotinto · 30/08/2016 21:32

Agreed, I can't bloody stand them.

ChampagneTastes · 30/08/2016 21:32

You can do it in Word... but obviously you shouldn't as that would be intensely annoying

OP posts:
Tartyflette · 30/08/2016 21:32

Thought i read upthread that you can do it elsewhere....no?

PepsiPenguin · 30/08/2016 21:32

When used correctly it can add some hilarious undertones to a post, maybe write a letter of complaint to mumsnet HQ or go to netmums Hun

Ohflippinheck · 30/08/2016 21:37

I've never used it before but my contrary nature compels me to do so now.
Not an effective substitute for wit indeed.

MistressMerryWeather · 30/08/2016 21:39

Oh, I love a good strikethough, me.

I wish there was a real-life equivalent other than mumbling under your breath.

You can c&p it into FB posts, but it looks a bit wobbly, because the lines are at different levels, not nice and straight like MN's one.
