To be thoroughly bewildered by the success of Chris De Burgh?

Just watching him being interviewed by Aled on Weekend and now performing live.

I have always found him to be thoroughly unattractive in a slimy creepy kind of way, he has zero charisma, his voice is weak and warbly and really not pleasant to listen to and his song writing is beyond dull.

Yet he's unbelievably rich and successful and on his 21st album.

Who buys his stuff? who goes to his concerts? Someone must! I just don't get it. It's making me irrationally irritated to think that there are people out there who actually like him and love his work. It's just not right. IANBU. You know it.

I dream of lying down on a bed of Barry's teabags and have Chris de Burgh make love to me. He would play my body as expertly as he plays the guitar. A true sexual maestro.

Naturally I would want his music playing in the background to further enhance this wondrous experience. Perhaps there could be a choir singing A Spaceman Came Travelling and they could la-la-la-laaaaa-la-la at our point of climax.

vanillasugar I can imagine. I was laughing so much reading the comments on facebook when the lobster festival was cancelled, possibly cancelled, community outraged by lack of clarity over the Dalkey lobster Festival.. The comments were pure gold.
