To think my ex's fiancée is demanding too much?

Number20 · 26/08/2016 20:47

By saying that he shouldn't see me at all and that he should move house to be further away from me.

I know we've had our history but AIBU to think this is controlling behaviour?

OP posts:

Are you Rachel? Is he Ross and fiancée Emily GrinHmm

VK86 · 26/08/2016 22:07

Haha never mind I just read further down the thread and realised I'm very late to join lol.
FWIW I knew it was friends as soon as you said he said your name at a bad time. Smile

AnotherPrickInTheWall · 26/08/2016 22:29

Why should you care?? I would keep my distance; you have nothing that bonds you together; no kids etc.
Why does it bother you that he is involved in a whirlwind romance?
I get that you are hurt that he has moved on, but I wonder if you are still in regular contact with the ex.
Just leave them to do their thing and concentrate on making a life for yourself.
Were you together for a long time? Are /were you a big part of his family?

Sunshineonacloudyday · 26/08/2016 22:29

My next door neighbour got married after 2 weeks of meeting each other.

AnotherPrickInTheWall · 26/08/2016 22:32

This isn't funny OP, people have had their threads pulled for a lot less ( and they weren't messing around trying to be clever.)
Too much time on your hands.

SpongeBobJudgeyPants · 26/08/2016 22:39

Yawn...

furryminkymoo · 26/08/2016 22:40

Seriously just bore the fuck off

PresidentOliviaMumsnet · 26/08/2016 22:45

To clarify - this poster is larking about and is not actually looking for relationship support
Thanks

LucyFuckingPevensie · 26/08/2016 22:52

Peace and love everyone ? Wine

I don't mind these sorta threads, come on it's nearly 11 on a Friday night, it's not like we have got anything better to do.

tofutti · 26/08/2016 22:52

I didn't twig. Possibly because Friends jumped the shark for me right about the time they came to London.

Well played, OP. The OP who did a 'cutted up pair' post earlier today was crucified.

Slightly disappointed, thought it was going to be a juicy real life love triangle!

hownottofuckup · 26/08/2016 22:53

OP you mustn't do this. Fun is not allowed on MN, it's very upsetting for people who are unfun.

NuggetofPurestGreen · 26/08/2016 22:56

Surely it's your ex's wife, not fiancée?

Sunshineonacloudyday · 26/08/2016 23:09

Just read the thread good one op.

Sunshineonacloudyday · 26/08/2016 23:10

Its nice to have a laugh on mn it does get very serious sometimes.

AlpacaLypse · 26/08/2016 23:17

3/10 OP. I still think the best wind-up spoof thread was HullyGully's AIBU about not inviting Old Relatives to a wedding, on the grounds that they would only sit about the reception reminiscing about old times and insisting on drinking sherry and making embarrassing remarks about Bride/Groom. Posted in response to a rash of Child-free/not Child-free Bridezilla wedding AIBUS.

Threads like this are annoying. People start working out advice as they're going through. And the odd snappy comment. For example, my contribution was going to be...

If he's still saying my name then surely he still loves me.
Nah, I called the postman 'dad' once. Means nothing. Though I admit we weren't having sex at the time.

And now it's wasted!

LucyFuckingPevensie · 27/08/2016 09:47

I think this is why MN is the way it is now. I know this kind of thread isn't everyone's cup of tea, but there are hardly any whacky, funny threads about. I am sure It's because as soon as anyone starts anything remotely on the side of lighthearted then it gets picked at, to the point where people just don't bother anymore.

It's not just me is it, surely MN actually used to be a bit fun ?

LyraMortalia · 27/08/2016 12:05

TheGruffaloMother just snorted tea all over my keyboard Grin

VanillaSugar · 27/08/2016 12:11

OP - never give up.
