it's like listening to a six year old when my neighbour is in the garden, he's in his 30's but goes in the garden is out there for a couple of minutes then he calls her several times, loudly, i don't know her real name, so i guess she is mum -. she calls him by his name but responds in a tired mums voice sort that you would use when a dc whinges and pesters.
sorry, if i sound a bit bitchy but it makes me smile, so what do you call your dp /dh/ dw ?

Generally call DH by an abbreviation of his first name, though he always uses the full version of his name.

We also call each other baby, babe, darling.

Our DDs are very rarely called by their actual names. Instead, they answer to a wide variety of pet names...Flumpy, YumBum, Twinkle, Snufkin, Bobbins. They always seem to know which one of them I mean.

Don't know how they know, actually Hmm

First names usually. DH calls me 'Mrs xxx (his surname) as a joke even although I never changed my name when I got married over 20 years ago.

Hushabyelullaby · 24/08/2016 17:48

DH calls me 'honey', he never uses my name just directs conversation at me. I call him his name or 'babe'

Wifey Wenchypants Bitchface

The faces pulled by people who don't know us when he trots that one out Grin I know it's a term of endearment though, so all is well

Shortened to Wifey when the kiddos are in earshot!!

BeyondLoves how funny, we are going through a phase of calling each other Bob! (Also neither of us called Bob). DH riffs on it to create new ones. At the moment it's "Boberousbob". Based on past lifespan of the nicknames he has created I'm sure he will tire of it and invent some new ones soon..

Justwanttoweeinpeace · 24/08/2016 18:03

I call him daddy in (young) DS's presence. I use his name the rest of the time.

Mysterycat23 · 24/08/2016 18:03

Jigglypuff Bob is a popular one it seems! DH is going to love this!

lanbro · 24/08/2016 18:08

We very very very rarely call each other by our first names, sounds a bit odd when we do

Although always hating pet names I just can't stop myself...babe, darling, dear, my love, grumpy bum, nobber, chicken legs

He calls me babs, babbles, sexy, wench, my lass, oi wife

The dc, 4 and nearly 3, know our names but know to call us mummy and daddy!
