AIBU to think that blaming Autocorrect for mistakes is just plain lazy?

Just read back what you have typed before hitting Post, for fuck's sake.

And if you made a typo that doesn't render the meaning completely indecipherable please don't write another post with *correction. We get what you meant, just leave it.

I suppose you don't like people who post the same post twice?

Cock Sucker.

GAH auto correct fail! I meant to say "Good night everybody."

Topseyt · 20/08/2016 23:27

My auto-correct can be a twat.

In fact, it just automatically changed the word twat to test! Perhaps it dislikes me calling it a twat. I even had to add the word twat to the dictionary to stop it doing that.

I do love the howlers that dear old auto-correct can be responsible for though. They can brighten up a dull day no end.Grin

Brilliant Vanilla! Do you write comedy for a living?

My autocorrect doesn't even recognise itself! It changes autocorrect to autocorrelation.

It's also prudish. It doesn't like swearing of any kind. And it doesn't recognise 'lesbian' as a sexual orientation. It feels they should all be 'lesions'.

It's a pain in the arsenal. (I'm leaving that one to show what a twat it is Grin)

Yabu my autocorrect randomly changes dc to school.

Yanbu, OP.

But I love autocorrect - it's frequently hilarious (yes, I have a weird sense of humour)

I agree. They are often very funny. The curse of autocorrelation (see there you go- why on earth is it substituting "autocorrelation" -a word I'm sure I've never used and not entirely sure of its meaning-for "autocorrect")

I also like the corrections which are just random letters- what was it thinking of?

My DD text me earlier today that her son was having a strop because she wouldn't let him go to Ukraine with his friend's family.
She meant IKEA!
