Actually you're right whattodo, he didn't say that disablism didn't exist in the team. He didn't mention it at all. Which is odd, since he seemed to give the sexism idea a thorough rubbishing.

Nicole Cook's autobiography is an illuminating read, as is Pendleton's. She was off busy winning World Championships for the UK and utterly dismissed by British Cycling (in terms of funding and coaching help) when the male team were still pissing about trying to keep the shiny side upright. I have no doubt whatsoever that there is a significant cultural an ingrained sexism at BC.

I think, to speak up for some decent (if ignorant) men, some would never dream of acting in the sexist (and worse) way other men do towards women so they find it hard to believe that such behaviour is common, or of people they otherwise like. Some women are guilty of this as well. I ain't seen it, I wouldn't do it, it never happened to me, so it don't happen.

Ourblanche your posts have absolutely baffled me. BW comments in the Daily Mail in essence have been a clear attack on Jess Varnish and he has in essence called her a liar about her accusations. VP is no longer a member of GB team and has said very little about Shane Sutton but was more involved with Jess Varnish as her GB partner in2012. If BW is able to slit another team member he should be called on it or stop talking about it. What is the point of the inquiry otherwise. Being a clueless male doesn't cut it.
