They sent me 2 packs of rotten raspberries with caterpillars on them in my shop.

I phoned up but the lady couldn't speak English properly so she couldn't understand what I was trying to tell her.

In the end I hung up and decided to email instead. I also requested through a separate online request for an email. Despite an automated email saying they would respond within 48 hours, it has been 4 days and no response to my complaint. My refund has also not been issued.

I've sent them another complaint but I'm losing faith that I'm going to get a reply.

I've been a customer since I've been an adult who does her own food shop but won't be buying from them again as they give me rotten fruit and then don't care to respond to my complaints. BLOODY GITS!

I've not shopped in Asda since having a ready meal from their and finding hundreds of tiny fruit flies in the broccoli- AFTER I'd taken a bite. I took it to the customer service desk, complete with flies. They shrugged, took it off me and offered a £10 voucher. I turned it down, I didn't want to give them anymore custom after that. I wrote to head office and they wrote back saying, you were offered £10 voucher, you didn't take it, tough. I wasn't looking for compensation per se, just an apology. Bastards.

FFS. They have the EASIEST refund system ever. No questions ask you just bring up your order and push the refund button on the item.
They email you the refund the next day.

If you feel you've been badly let down then yes you can complain like with any other store. I've complained once and got a voucher. I've refunded a few times usually because I'm not happy with a date. No problems whatso ever.

PregnantAndEngaged · 16/08/2016 16:36

Well if you read my post you'd see I requested a refund and it hasn't been processed and I requested within timeframe.

I also think eating fruit within the use by to find it is rotten and only afterwards realising it has caterpillars riggling on it is disgusting. There's a difference between off ie mouldy, and rotten infested with creatures.

I also think it's dire that they don't care enough to respond to complaints

So yes, a hate campaign for this, ffs.

Oh and I don't drive and asda is quite a way away so stop assuming I live close enough to just drop in to a store. Why do you think I chose home delivery

I requested a refund and it hasn't been processed
When did you request it?

PersianCatLady · 16/08/2016 17:01

What day I mean?

teacher54321 · 16/08/2016 17:10

I get that it's very annoying, but it's really not worth getting this upset over I don't think. I remember someone posting last year saying that asda hadn't delivered their shopping but had taken all the money and they had no money for food or nappies. That is a disaster. This is an inconvenience.

meck · 16/08/2016 17:39

It's more likely to be maggots or another grub if they're wriggling in the rotten raspberries and not on leaves (the leaves are usually absent in supermarket berries). I know that's not helpful Grin

FranHastings · 16/08/2016 17:42

I've had no trouble with Asda at all when I've needed a refund. Their delivery drivers are always lovely too.

I don't quite understand the level of hate for 2 packs of raspberries. Yes, it's annoying, but not the end of the world.

PersianCatLady · 16/08/2016 18:04

Neither have I ever, when I unpack my order I check it and then if there is an issue claim for a refund.

On the website it says it takes 3-5 days but I have never waited more than 4 days for a refund.

silvermantela · 16/08/2016 18:44

Agree with twitter. I basically only use my account to complain to various companies, it sadly seems to be the only way to get them moving some days.

I complained via their tel number, which is what they suggest you do, and the woman said she'd give me a £5 refund but it didn't go on to my online account, so I then tried to email them and got the we will respond in 24 hour auto email, but 3 days later hadn't had a response.

Tried twitter and got a lovely message apologising within an hour or two. Also sent me £20 voucher. A few days later the £5 they'd originally promised also got put on my account, so obviously even the two different complaints teams don't communicate with each other, let alone the rest of the departments!

Sugarlightly · 16/08/2016 19:02

Most of the people that say "They couldn't understand English!!!!" are the ones screaming incoherently and extremely rudely down the phone, in my experience

missnevermind · 16/08/2016 19:14

I phoned Asda customer complaints last week and even though I understood the girl speaking it was still an aukward and frustrating conversation And neither of us were screaming down the phone.

kali110 · 16/08/2016 20:00

Or likely your bank hasn't processed your refund yet...it's usually 3-5 days ( some places say 7 working days) so i'd be ringing them after that.
Though they'd probably have told you that themselves.
But no, i don't think a hate campaign over this is necessary at all.

kali110 · 16/08/2016 20:01

Sugarlightly yes!

StepAwayFromTheEcclesCakes · 16/08/2016 20:09

are you aware that on the website you can, within 3 days of having your order delivered, request a refund on anything in the order for a number of reasons. I use Asda often and usually find them ok, today my lamb was missing so i just went into my account, my orders and requested a refund as 'missing' also a refund for another item as ' unsuitable substitution' . that was at 2.00pm I have already had an e email saying its been refunded. All seems very straight forward to me and very happy that the delivery man put all the boxes on the counter tops so I did not have to bend (just had hip op) and he unpacked most of it for me Smile

StepAwayFromTheEcclesCakes · 16/08/2016 20:15

oops RTFT and realised other posters have also highlighted this Blush

SealSong · 16/08/2016 20:16

Let me point you all in the direction of Morrison's awesome customer service.
I shop online with them. You can leave reviews for the products on their website. I left a middling review of some slightly disappointing fruit tarts (nothing wrong with them per se, just not to my taste - too sweet), thinking that was that. I then had Morrison's customer service phone me up, apologise profusely that the fruit tarts were not to my liking, refund the price and gave me a month's free delivery charges. I kid you not.

I love Morrisons. Their bananas come in little protective jackets Smile

revealall · 17/08/2016 12:01

Pregnant Yes I did read your op. Perhaps you didn't read it back?
From your op;
" I phoned up".
Then you said " I emailed"

Neither of those is clicking on your order and pushing the REFUND REQUEST button!

Of course mouldy food isn't acceptable but I guess it happens to food on the odd occasion. Can't see why caterpillars make a difference. Would you rather the raspberries be sprayed with insecticide then?

KingJoffreyLikesJaffaCakes · 17/08/2016 12:08

Lots of protein in a caterpillar.

LagunaBubbles · 17/08/2016 12:18

You obviously havent had the misfortune of dealing with BT customer service staff then.

PersianCatLady · 17/08/2016 13:18

All seems very straight forward to me
It is and seeing as the OP has told us when she requested the refund I am sure that she has now realised just how ridiculous her anger at Asda was.

MissMoo22 · 17/08/2016 14:14

I got some fresh bread rolls delivered in my shopping last week only to find a lovely big fly inside trying desperately to escape. Emailed them and had an email back to say they sent they email to the relevant department for escalation and nothing since. No refund either.

MissMoo22 · 17/08/2016 14:16

Got distracted while writing that....
the fly was inside the package which was sealed up (from the bread counter)

blueturtle6 · 17/08/2016 14:16

I never received shopping, still awaiting refund, agree their customer service is atrocious. Their profits are falling and I can see why....
