To think weight loss of five a week is not normal

I've been losing this for the past four weeks. I was only two stone overweight to start with.

OP posts:
TheGruffaloMother · 09/08/2016 22:51

I think even the diet for prediabetics is 800 calories OP, and it's acknowledged that it's an extreme diet. Being on it for the full 3 months is the most severe form. And the whole point in it is to produce very rapid weight loss.

SaucyJack · 09/08/2016 22:53

Could you maybe work out what it is you feel you want to discuss, and then repost this without the attention-seeking nonsense?

EllenJanethickerknickers · 09/08/2016 23:04

When I got divorced I lost 4 stone in six months through stress and not being able to eat. I then got the worst gall stones! I had to have my gall bladder removed. Don't do it, you fool!

HelenaDove · 09/08/2016 23:08

Amarok is right You will be in danger of getting gallstones at that rate.

I got it the first time. I lost seven stone in seven months (ten altogether)

The second time i had 4 stone to lose which took 3 years.... it was very slow but the huge pro to it is i dont gain weight easily now.

Never restrict yourself with a time frame. Think of it as a long term way of being healthy.

It was really hard the second time seeing a friends huge losses coming down my fb page from the VLCD she was doing. But i didnt get depressed and jack it in. I just concentrated on my own way of doing things.

Im with the PP who suggests you go and see your GP.

Gruffalo and Saucy - Love the no nonsense approach Grin

TheGruffaloMother · 09/08/2016 23:27

Why thank you user Smile all a bit silly this mock surprise stuff, isn't it?

faceymcfuckface · 09/08/2016 23:31

Really? REALLY?!

Queenbean · 09/08/2016 23:32

It's really easy to lose weight quickly when you're very overweight to start with

Ginkypig · 10/08/2016 01:04

Don't be so stupid of course losing a massive amount of weight your fucking starving yourself!

Once your down where you want and begin to eat again you will massively gain again and you'll be back to square one.

Get your head on and look at what the recommended calories are for women then cut them (prob by about 500 at a start) until you lose weight 1-2lb a week is a sustainable loss. Then once your happy raise the calories slowly each week until you don't lose or gain.

Yorkieheaven · 10/08/2016 01:10

Right op! Hmm first post?

Shizzlestix · 10/08/2016 01:26

YABU. 500 calories a day is ridiculously low. Stop being stupid. But how are you only losing 5lbs a week? I dropped 10lbs in my first week at Slimming World, a combination of not feeling well (bug) and eating according to the plan.

HelenaDove · 10/08/2016 01:33

"But how are you only losing 5lbs a week"

And fellow MNers here is the reason a now slower loser like me didnt stay to class.

Because this is how ridiculous, expectations have got.

Yorkieheaven · 10/08/2016 01:39

Eating s pizza and enjoying the daft thread

itfcbabe · 10/08/2016 01:41

I have lost 16.5 lbs in 5 weeks on slimming world and I have 10 stone to lose.

Doing it the way you are doing it,is wrong as soon as you go over 500 calories and you will do or you will get very I'll or die eating so little long term, you will start to put the weight back on and probably more than you lost in the 1st place, been there done that myself.

Do it slowly, 1lb a week is 52lbs which is 3 stone 10lbs and you don't want to lose that much so will be even quicker for you.

Finally I have got in the right frame of mind and doing it properly.

HelenaDove · 10/08/2016 01:43

itfcbabe. Well done Thanks

PeppaPigTastesLikeBacon · 10/08/2016 07:20

WHY did I waste my time replying to this.
im eatinh 500 cals a day and I'm wondering why I'm losing so much weight 🤔 Hmm 🤔

Thefitfatty · 10/08/2016 07:31

Two stone overweight!?!?! Dear Lord, how did you get out of bed in the morning. You should be hiding yourself in shame and not step out the door for fear of normalizing obesity in your area.

500 Calories a day is perfectly fine. Because starvation mode is a myth and there are no unhealthy side effects to a low calorie diet. You should also ensure you're going to the gym for at least 2 hours a day as well. You're goal should be 2% body fat.

I blame vanity sizing for the nonsense on this thread about 1200 and 1500 calories. We've gotten so used to food and fat people that we think eating is ok.

(Have I covered all the usual nonsense?Wink ).

ButtMuncher · 10/08/2016 07:40

500/10

P1nkP0ppy · 10/08/2016 07:44

Oh deary me, you can't work out why without asking MN?
😳

davos · 10/08/2016 07:46

Tbh if I was suffering through eating only 500kcal a day, I would hope I had lost more than 5lb. Grin

divafever99 · 10/08/2016 07:51

I think you will find you will re gain very quickly once you start eating normally again.

Kirriemuir · 10/08/2016 07:55

You will fail but you know that. 500 calories is not sustainable, not healthy and not good for your organs either. You are starving yourself. Research properly and choose an eating plan to suit your lifestyle.

HarveySchlumpfenburger · 10/08/2016 07:56

It feels like there should be more nonsense, thefitfatty. Maybe it just gets repeated endlessly.

FlyingElbows · 10/08/2016 07:57

I think you've got it all Thefitfatty but I'm absolutely sure someone will come along to fill in any bits you've missed (which, let's be honest, is the whole tedious point of the first post Hmm).

madgingermunchkin · 10/08/2016 08:01

You do realise that but going on an unsustainable crash diet you are more likely to gain weight when you stop right?

The only way to lose the weight and keep it off is to change your mindset about food and exercise, eat healthily and do more exercise.

You're just going to damage your body (liver, kidneys, reproductive system!) if you carry on like this. Also, right now, your body is eating away at muscle, not burning the excess fat you have. It is not healthy
