I do a lot of motorway driving.
Can someone please enlighten me as to why people don't indicate when changing lanes? People just drift in and out of the lanes, cut in front of me etc.

I guess it's laziness but how is it hard to indicate? Surely it's just an ingrained thing you do without really thinking about it?

It's really starting to piss me off.

If people want to go over the speed limit its not up to you to police themkirstylaura. You would be better pulling over to let them pass. I don't see what is arrogant about driving the speed limit. Perhaps if everyone followed proper lane discipline by moving back to the left the roads in general would be a better place to drive on. Your refusal to pull over says a lot.

This constant lane changing is weird. If you are going faster than the flow of traffic why would you keep changing lanes? Hmm

If you are going faster than the "flow of traffic" on your left, you are overtaking it. When you complete that overtake, you move back.

If there is no traffic to your left then you are not overtaking anything, are you? You are just being a silly lane hogger who doesn't understand Rule 264 of the Highway Code.

I don't understand why this concept seems quite so difficult to grasp.

Read what I wrote again 'bimbobaggins' I didn't say it was arrogant to drive the speed limit, I said it was arrogant to get up the arse of people who are already driving the speed limit, because they want to drive faster. There are nearly always cars on the inner lanes, and therefore it's a constant overtaking IF you are driving the speed limit, and driving faster than the inner lanes. I am not doing anything wrong, so i am NOT better pulling in to let them pass me, as it usually means I have to break to slow down to 60 or so, AND I can't get back out into the outside lane again. Suck it up and drive up my arse if you have to, If i'm driving the speed limit and overtaking, I'm staying put.

Isn't the speed limit "a limit" not a target. I'm with kirsty. Driving anywhere would be good if people remembered the law.

Get ready for a slating Kirsty.

For those on page nine try reading the posts. I'm sorry if you don't comprehend . Of course I am not driving in the middle lane if Lane 1 is empty. I am overtaking. I typed that,I typed about the type of traffic, that very early in the morning there is no traffic for sometimes as far as you can see - over a mile at times behind me so instead of going back in staying thirty seconds and back out changing lanes between lorries and having to change down to 50-60 mph I stay until I can pass them all, no more than
two minutes. I am over taking more than lane hogging it depends how you look at it. Everyone here seems to think I am a lane hogger. I am not angry I put some in capitals to emphasis that I had already said that but as either I am not able to put it across properly, you don't read the post properly or you cannot comprehend it.

After the accident on the ice I was just regaining my confidence. However since you all think I am such a dreadful driver, I annoy people and don't know how to drive I think I'll sell my car and buy a push bike.
