Loved Lego land. Loved the submarine, loved the panning for gold, loved the pirate show, loved the star wars bit.

Hated the food. Would take pack up. Objected in principle to getting a pushing in pass. Learned that you can't expect not to get wet on a wet ride.

I've just looked up how much it costs, £50!!!!! We had a family season ticket when it first opened and it cost less than that for a whole year for all of us! And then they want you to pay £75 each to queue-jump!

Goodness me, how on earth does anyone afford to go!

Can anyone tell me how big the lockers are there? We do not drive so are travelling down by train and staying in a hotel the night before, so I wondered if the lockers are big enough to fit in a carry on size case?

The lockers are big enough for a couple of backpacks, think school locker size. The Legoland website maybe able to give specific dimensions.

Ps don't queue for the q bots at the front as there is a stand near the lego friends/Egyptian bit -let the fastest adult run down there and get a former to fill out in the q to speed it up :)

Another vote for Qbot although think it's £20pp now. Makes all the difference between a crap day and a good one IMO

I also vouch for the q bots. We've done all three types and I think the £30 ones strike the right balance between cost vs reward. It means you can manage to get on all the rides.

In the past we haven't done the splash park as it had big queues - yesterday the kids went in the Duplo splash bit and loved it. It was really busy but they still had an ace time.

In terms of first ride - either leg it to Coastguard HQ or to Knight's Kingdom first. We got on the pirate ship, both dragon rides and the knight's quest roundabout in the first half hour with very little queueing.

Another vote for qbots. I understand it's a pain for those that don't get but i can only once in a year I want to get on as much as possible. I'm thinking of getting Merlin pass next year and we won't be doing qbots regularly. Put stuff in lockers by water area. Don't assume it can ever be too cold for children to go in it!

We have been every year for approx 5yrs. Not the most enjoyable experience but my ASD son insists upon it.

We are "lucky " as we get exit passes for the rides, otherwise I wouldn't even contemplate going.

Do they still let kids eat for free after a certain time?

Didn't see kids eat free offer this time round

Fewer wasps though

I have been a few times and every time say it's the last.
Horribly busy every single time I've been.
The food wasn't any more expensive than other places with a captive audience, last time Ds and I ate at some pirate themed place and had lunch for about £15 - a small price to pay for not carting a picnic bag about all day.
In previous years we've had the QBots when there's been the 5 of us, we got the more expensive ones but for us, if you're going, you want to get on everything.
The submarine was crap, as was the laser thing, absolutely not worth queuing for. Not was the boat lake.

And despite my moaning, the kids have loved it every time we've been, it's just me and dp who think the whole day is terrible value for money from start to finish!
But the think that rankles the most after chucking money hand over fist all day, is paying £5 to park in their bloody carpark!
Ffs, I'd hardly go and use a space there to nip off for the day and visit auntie Jean, I'm clearly going to spend lots of money inside Legoland Angry

We did not get the q-bots, and the kids got in free with vouchers we had.

We actually had a great time. Went on the driving school bit first thing, the only ride that was a terrible queue was the Coastguard HQ, which actually was not worth it, we only went on that as it was right next to the driving school, but they only opened all 3 lanes of boats just as we were getting on one. Think that was 45 mins for that one.

We made great use of the app after that, which told us queue times, so we knew where to go and made decisions based on that.

The kids each chose 2-3 rides each that they definitely wanted to do, and we made sure we did those for sure, anything else was a bonus. We did a fair few rides using the app, and drench towers was great fun.

We got there at 9, got the tickets, went round mini land from half past, and then made our way down to the Driving school once the gates opened. And we were there till 7pm at closing. BUT the kids got on everything they wanted and more and certainly did not feel like they missed out. Probably would not bother with a q-bot even if we wanted to spend that money. Kids managed just fine with what queues we had. We probably did about 14 rides in total, and that was with half an hour spent at lunch, an hour in Drench Towers (with changing time) and another walk around mini land after lunch, the maze and the half hour or so they spent in the playground.

But we are never ever allowed to mention the Jolly Rocker pirate ship thing. My 8 year old hated that, so much so it has been renamed The Not So Jolly Rocker of Doom.

I am one of the crazy ones going this Saturday and wanted to ask if it's worth taking a buggy thing for DS 5? We have one of those bike trailers which can be pushed and can carry everything (including lunch and drinks) but not sure if it would be cumbersome and also if there are places to leave it while we are on the rides (We have a QBot - sorry!)
