Moving into a flatshare, two rooms on offer and up to me and flatmate to sort prices. One v big with balcony and nice room; one with en-suite bit equivalent floor space (so smaller bedroom area but still big). Flatmate wants to pay same price for en-suite and I don't really want en-suite so have agreed...

Is this fair?

I don't think having a partner stay over should cause the person to pay more. The cost of the room is the same for one as it is for two. The bills don't change and surely everyone buys their own food so very petty to charge more or disallow partners.

The bills don't change? Maybe you haven't shared with someone whose other half wastes water, electricity and heating yet doesn't pay a penny for it?

Yes. Guy at DDs flat who worked from home with heating on! And just there all the time cooking, showers, telly etc. Then there's milk, loo rolls, using food by mistake or hogging a shelf of the fridge. A friday and/or saturday night is OK but 4 nights of the week is taking the piss I think.
