More of a wwyd
I booked a mobile hairdresser as can never make it to salon, any ways hairdresser comes asked her for a bleach and tone as I always get she says my hairs light enough to not bleach but just 'lift' I said ok ur the hairdresser any ways she lifts it doesn't work she puts on bleach on top of this lift dye she had first put on, then Rinses then tones, hairs bright yellow she then says sorry my fault should have bleached in first place she says hi lights should fix it does hi lights roots still bright yellow so I now have bright yellow roots ash blonde ends and burns and scabs all over my head. I refused to pay her but this was before I realised the burns and the scabs they are so sore especially on the back of my neck! So now have to walk round with yellow roots till scalp heals wwyd just leave it and ask another hairdresser to fix or ask her to pay other hairdresser to fix it?

On mobile it should say PM On laptop I think it says message poster?! I'll message you and hope you can find it haha

OreosAreTasty · 02/08/2016 21:14

PMd you always :)

Truckingalong · 02/08/2016 21:28

You need an ash toner, rather than Purple shampoo. Just wait until everything's healed up first though before you use it.

AlwaysBU · 02/08/2016 21:31

Here's the pics Oreos I can't say thank you enough tbh x

And unexpected I know! I have always gone to an amazing hairdresser who does my hair fab, but I have moved recently and my OH is working crazy hours and we don't have a baby sitter so thought I'd try a mobile hairdresser big mistake, lesson learnt!

Send her one more text and say this is her last chance to put things right otherwise she leaves you with no option but to seek a resolution via other means . She won't know what 'other means ' you will pursue, but it might make her sit up and take more.

I am so fuming, I seen the review Oreos posted and her reply is sickening it is just lie after lie after lie I actually feel like crying. She's saying that I must have done something to my hair or I must be on medication for my hair not to lift! I am. It on any medication no I dunno what I could have put on my hair for it to not bleach. She's saying she did offer to come back and fix it which she did but this was before she did the hi lights and after this i didn't want her touching my hair, she even asked if she wanted me to put another toner on after the hi lights I told her my scalp can't take any more tbh!! She's saying I sent her out of my house without letting her resolve or explain which is a lie she had an opportunity to resolve but she just packed up her stuff and left as I was just speechless at my hair and just wanted her out at this point it WAs 10pm at night before she left. She's saying I told her this has happened before at previous salons which is the biggest lie, I have only used 2 salons in my life and none have done this to me I did however bleach my own hair when I was seventeen and turned it illumines yellow but never told her anything about another Salon doing this and she's saying I didn't let her correct it, and I didn't text her at all any ways. Of course I didn't let her correct it her idea of correcting it was whacking another toner on top of the 4 treatments she'd already put on my hair. And I 100% text her the message doinmummy suggested, and can prove this I am so fed up of this awful woman now she's not the timid 20 year old now is she I think I'm just going to ring her at 8am and see what she says and try and keep my cool!

Angry for you . Time to seek legal advice I think . We all make mistakes but it's how you deal with it that either makes things better or worse.

Champagneformyrealfriends · 03/08/2016 07:58

Ring her. Mumsnet alone is proof enough that people say anything they like when they're hiding behind a screen. Better still go and see her. Angry I'm so angry for you op.

MarbleFox · 03/08/2016 15:44

No way! So angry on your behalf Angry I really can't believe she's lying and attempting to pin the blame onto you.
At this point I would create a Facebook account purely to reply to her reply, explain for everyone to see what you've said here. Make sure to mention that you sent her a polite text which was blatantly ignored! As others have said you should also seek legal advice, text her or call her to let her know you're doing this. I doubt it but she may pay more attention if you tell her this.
I bleached my hair myself for two years with no qualifications and wasn't stupid enough to think my hair or scalp could handle 4 or 5 treatments in the space of one day.

AnotherNewPhoneCase · 03/08/2016 15:54

Would a purple shampoo help to take the yellow out of it without damaging the hair further? Coconut oil is also supposed to make hair feel more hydrated but haven't tried it myself

gingerbreadmanm · 03/08/2016 16:08

wellacolour charm toner did a brilliant job on my yellow (diy) hair last week Blush

Jacobbay · 03/08/2016 16:19

My hair went lighter than I wanted and was pretty yellow too. The purple shampoo has toned it down immediately. Also I was advise to take antihistamine for the burning scalp.

OnlyAFoolsChance · 03/08/2016 17:11

Have a mobile hairdresser who is young and done something similar to my hair here! She also ruined my mums friends hair, managed to dye it pillar box red and refused to come back to fix it! She was meant to do some foil light blond highlights in my hair and they were different colours which I thought ok I'll not kick a fuss about as it can blend in easily but after she left my friend said to me get some mirrors and check back of your head, the foils had leaked and I had patches of hair that had about 1/2 inch dark root, a bright orange BLOB then a yellow colour then blond further down the hair.

Never used her again, and yet shes still advertising herself everywhere. I'd maybe look at asking out of hours or any nurse friends to have a look to make sure you're using enough cream etc to soothe your skin as it looks very sore :(

OnlyAFoolsChance · 03/08/2016 17:13

Also I use a lovely work from home hairdresser now who I've become good friends with and she has confided in me that a few people have come to her now begging her to fix their hair after the same person screwed it up :O

confuugled1 · 03/08/2016 18:44

Have you got legal insurance on your house insurance?

They might be a good place to start if you do want to send her solicitor's letters - which will save you from having to spend money on a solicitor (initially at least) and you can usually ring them up and do your initial enquiries over the phone which is less hassle then needing to get to an appointment with a real solicitor!

AlwaysBU · 04/08/2016 13:11

I am also really angry with her, I'll definitely try some sort of purple shampoo till my scalps a bit better, and I don't have home insurance just yet either. And onlyafoolschance that's terrible!
Basically I rang her a few times and she didn't answer at all then i text her asking her politely if she would respond to my calls/texts. She text back saying her advice is for me to dye my hair dark and that I must be using something that has had a detrimental effect on my hair and she gave me 2 solutions whilst at my house and it's my fault if I didn't accept them. Just to recap the solutions where 1. To apply more toner to already chemically burnt scalp that had had 4 treatments on already and second option was for her to come back another day and apply hi lights for a discounted price, yes a discounted price even though the hi lights she had already done didn't work in the first place. Eventually she said that her third option was for me to use the £35 I should have paid her in the first place should be used to cover some costs of correcting it, so basically do nothing. I text her and just said that I wasn't satisfied that she didn't have a sensible solution for me and that would be seeing a solicitor. She then texts me this morning saying hi I understand you feel unhappy with the service and as a gesture of goodwill I can offer you £20. This in no way shows that I accept liability and a condition of your acceptance would be to remove the negative review from Facebook and agree that this will be the end of the matter if you agree I shall bring the money and an agreement form for you to sign. Hmm

Take her to court. She has chemically burned your scalp.

I had a similar experience with hair dye (not patch tested correctly - massive allergic reaction) and sued the woman who did it to me... Suing is not usually something I would consider as everyone makes mistakes, right?

Well...

I changed my mind when it turned out she had given me a lifelong allergy to hair dye meaning I can never, ever permanently colour my hair again.

That along with her shitty attitude and the fact that she advertised 'natural permanent dye' on her website... Total BS - after thorough allergy skin testing it turns out that the allergy is to a substance which is not remotely natural.

Keep a record of everything and see a solicitor pronto. Good luck and I hope you feel better soon.

Any news on this OP?

HelenJey · 09/09/2016 09:58

I always use a coconut oil mask to make my hair healthy. I have thin hair and my hairdresser adviced me to try natural hair extensions. I ordered natural blonde hair in ponitale style at rus-hairextension.com/collections/ponytail. Maybe it would be useful for you too
