AIBU?

To expect my neighbours to bring my bin in?

Just arrived home from work, 6pm. It's bin day and like every week none of my neighbours (all retired but fit and well) bring my bin in. It's always left on the street causing obstruction.
I just know that if I was at home all day everyday id ring someone else's bin in if they were at work all day.

Cue a torrent of posts telling you, all straight-faced, that it's unreasonable to put bins over people's heads...!

Why on earth would your neighbour bring your bin in?!

I bring my neighbours bin in and they do it for me too.
Just nice neighbourliness.
I think it's just thoughtlessness on your neighbours part OP

My neighbour sent her son round to mine, with a letter, asking demanding that I put up the same style, very expensive, fence between us as she didn't like looking at my extension. ConfusedHmmAngry[go fuck yourself smilie] I'm such a selfish person I wouldn't take your bin in either.

I used to bring my neighbours in but then they expected me to put the fucking thing out too. When they moved I decided I wasn't doing it for new neighbours. Now new neighbours have smelliest rotten foul smelling devils anus of a bin and keep trying to pinch mine! Nope!

Depends how well you know them surely? I wouldn't bring in any of my neighbours bins because we don't know them well, and I wouldn't expect them to either (although I would be thankful if they did and would return the favour).

It's not the end of the world if your bin is left out till you get home.

I live in a neighborhood with mostly retired people. One of our neighbors brings our trash cans up to the garage door every week, and we have no idea who does it! We've lived here for 9 years, and have never been able to catch them at it. Some wily good samaritan, I guess.

I think it depends on what area of the country you live in. I put mine and next doors out as he's elderly but I think the other neighbours the next side bring both of ours in as I work full time. I've only lived in this house a year it's just what's happened ever since I've been here. I'm away next week and I know one side will defitley put my bin out.
