See I don't mind The Kelpies. The Colin Firth statue however is awful and gives me the same feeling. Maybe it's actually the fact they're in water that gets me!

I really like it, but why have they put her in a bikini? Surely a double decker bus-sized statue of an Olympian doesn't need sexing up?!

We're taking MIL to see the Kelpies next week. We love them and she is very excited. I don't think she's be so keen on Becky Addlington in a bikini though.

cutecat how on earth is Rebecca Adlington creepy? I think she's great, and I'm not a swimming fan, just someone who appreciates hard work on top of talent. Hurray for celebrating that, I say.

I also quite like the statue - symbolism is more powerful to me than pure depiction. Although I hope she is in the National Portrait Gallery soon, if she's not already.
