Hi there. Just been woken up by dog barking .... Think there was a fox in the garden. Big wave to Leslie.

Last film I saw was ...., ummmm. Obviously not memorable!!

Judgeaway · 17/07/2016 03:20

What it is exhausting but just get use to it.
His smiles make it all worth while Smile
Luckily Ds1 seems to have got use to sleeping through it, small mercies and all that

Roundles · 17/07/2016 03:21

I love crocheting. I've tried knitting but with little ones I find crochet easier to stop and star and easier to correct if I go wrong/loose count etc

Roundles I hope you don't mind me asking what that is?

WhatWouldLeslieKnopeDo · 17/07/2016 03:24

Good luck Peacock :)

I seem to be making it my mission to get MNers crocheting/knitting. I already shared this once today, well yesterday really. But personally I like the photo tutorials on this website. Others prefer YouTube. Lots of people seem to like The Crochet Crowd.

Are you in the UK or elsewhere? There are UK and US crochet terms, which confuse things a little. Also different countries seem to use different wool thicknesses more commonly.

If you're in the UK I'd recommend getting a 4mm crochet hook to begin with and using a double knitting wool. I like Stylecraft Special Double Knitting, but any fairly cheap acrylic double knitting would be fine :)

Roundles · 17/07/2016 03:24

leslie you sound amazing. Do you have a list of your favorite books or films?

OP posts:
Roundles · 17/07/2016 03:26

Also leslie do you know.the UK.hand knitting association?

Judgeaway · 17/07/2016 03:30

The sheet sleepy place I ment

Roundles · 17/07/2016 03:33

judge I will try an explain best I can, have you heard of weighted sleeping sheets, it can be anything from heavy blankets (won't work if like now it's warm as it will just annoy) but you can google and bad autistic sleepers fair much better with black out rooms (which I am sure you do) and literally weighted blankets, you can buy them or make your own. Hard to explain but it's abit like being baby swaddled? Helps sleeps hugely.

Judge :) good. Is he in pain with the ear infection? I hope not. I had lots of ear infections as a child and used to find a hot water bottle on my ear very soothing. But that's not very practical when he's climbing and jumping.

Roundles sheety sleepy space sounds very peaceful. Would that help you now?

No I don't know the UK hand knitting association. I shall look it up!

I'm not really sure what my favourite books or films are. I'm a bit weird like that. I've just finished listening to an audiobook of Our Souls at Night by Kent Haruf. I really loved it. My favourite film is probably the Sound of Music!

Waving at foofoo. I hope little dog has calmed down now :)

Roundles · 17/07/2016 03:38

The sheet sleepy place is what i would call almost a "bed fort"... Just an area focused on sleeping and bedtime, people with autism (hello!) often keep themselves awake (without wanting to) with strange focuses, but, even the most autistic exicitrd brain can only focus on one.tjing,

Excuse me, thing. So a distraction like a parachute sheet works well

Roundles ooh I don't know. Maybe Brigitta? I'm more like Maria though. I sing a lot and I used to be a sort of childminder type thing. How about you?

Roundles · 17/07/2016 03:46

TooManyButtons · 17/07/2016 04:02

I finished 3 night shifts yesterday morning, then spent most of the day asleep because I've got a hideous chest infection (or ebola - I'm not sure which Grin) - the result being I'm now wide awake. And wheezy. And sweaty. Woe is me.

WhatWouldLeslieKnopeDo · 17/07/2016 04:03

Haha Roundles I'm definitely not Grin I try to be a nice person, but I often fail.

How are you feeling now? I hope all the chit chat is helping a bit :)

WhatWouldLeslieKnopeDo · 17/07/2016 04:04

You poor thing TooManyButtons Flowers I hope you feel better soon
