daughter has cut all her hair off any advice from mums?

hi I don't really understand the topics, or where this would go. However, could someone please give me any advice? Her hair has been destroyed. I promise, I do not just leave scissors laying around, but she managed to find a pair and just let herself go.

Not sure what to do? :(

My sister did this, explain to hair dressers what happened they can give you some realistic ideas about where to go next?

take some deep breaths and go to a good children's hairdresser to ge tit tidied up.

It will not be the first time a child does that, though it is really upsetting for the parent of child concerned.

My Dd did this when she was 4. I didn't leave scissors around, my mum did. Dd had heard us talking about her older DB having lice and decided she didn't want hair! It was only just long enough to tie up as it was, she ended up with a pixie cut. Take her to a hairdresser and explain, they'll be able to tidy it up for her. I know it feels like a big deal but it really isn't.

Dd hacked a fair bit off when she was small too, go to the hairdresser they can tidy it up and it will grow back eventually or you might even grow to like it short.

She is only 3! I feel awful as she could have hurt herself, but it looks really bad. Little bald bits at the side too

I cut most of my hair off when i was 3 and my dm took me to the hairdressers and they fixed it with no problem (had to wait 4 days and we never left the house Grin) it was really short and looked terrible (my fringe was about an inch long) the rest just reached the bottom of my ears (i looked really proud of myself in the photo Grin) it grew back in time for my first day at school (it was a long bob), i never done it again i think dm gave me a proper telling off Grin

Pop into hairdresser tomorrow.

Hide scissors.

My Dd2 did it twice. She now has hair down to her bum. She did a great hacking job all over.

Is she upset or not bothered? Lots of them do it, don't worry. If you're not handy with the scissors you'll want a hairdresser to fix it up for you. Even if there are really short bits they'll grow over in a couple of weeks. Nice short practical cut for summer :) DD did hers around her 4th birthday. No idea why, she was mostly going on about being Rapunzel at the time. So much easier short though, it's growing out again now and the faff of trying to get her to keep it tied back...

I did this when I was about 7 - thought it looked fab. It didn't. My daughter did this when she was 3 - I have pics of her with Santa and her fringe is a wobbly 2 to 4 cm long and the rest is around ear level. It wil grow and you get to tease them about it when they are older.

Oh I think a lot of children do this - the degree they do it too varies.

Take her to a hairdresser they'll do the best they can, she'll just sport a pixie cut for a while - don't beat yourself up about it.

Go to the hairdresser and they can fix it. Wear a hairband or clip if you're worried about people mistaking her for a boy.

(I live in Spain where many people, especially the older generations, assume children aged under 13 are male if they're not wearing a huge hair bow and earrings. Even if they're 12 year olds with long hair, a pink dress and breasts Confused ).

She's in bed now, but I have one picture from earlier but it doesn't show the worst of it, but I hope you get a bit of an idea Grin

That doesnt look bad.

hairdresser should fix that right up.
