We've decided to elope on Monday 18th July in Chelmsford and wondered if anyone is free between 1. 30 and 2.30 pm to be our witness-? with lunch after to say thank you

Registry offices used to be able to offer a member of staff a witness if necessary, have you asked them? Then rules may have changed...
If I lived closer I would help :) always secretly fancied doing this myself...

Thanks ladies for all the replies and well wishes, I thought that too, unfortunately registry office have said they can not provide witnesses, but not to worry we will also ask around on the day and find someone!

Having organized our wedding just over 18 months ago, eloping sounds like a fabulous idea! Second wedding for us both and I couldn't believe how much time and work it took.
