Dogs and parks

Ok I know dogs need to be walked, but why are the children's areas so small. And the rest of the parks the grassy areas huge.

Why is it not possible for an outside track say 4 meters wide if not larger be fenced off for dogs leaving a centre area for children.

That way children can play football etc and dogs have a huge wide area going around the park.

Our local park is really big but it's covered in dog mess. Or dog wee. The children's area had swings etc and is dog free but there is nowhere to run around

The park must be 3 or 4 acres it could easily have an enormous outer circle easily 20ft wide circling.

It just seems that the dogs take priority over people.

Hmm

So now if anyone doesn't agree with you that children should take priority over everyone else, that means they think dogs should have priority over everyone else.

Get a grip OP no dogs are going to be pushing your precious darlings off the swing and shitting on it as they slide down...Adults may however (happened in my local park and yes it was people poo).

Oh and you've conveniently ignored all the other people who use the park. So you've got a grudge about marauding, mauling dogs and adults in parks without children. You think neither should be there.

ApostrophesMatter · 14/07/2016 16:36

I agree dogs should be kept on leads in public parks because, rare though it is, sometimes dogs do attack and it isn't worth the risk. Children matter more than dogs.

However, there should also be a fenced area where dogs can be exercised off lead.

That seems a fair compromise.

Grassgreendashhabi · 14/07/2016 16:50

What I'm am saying is there should be a seperate area of grass for dogs

All the sarcastic comments I'm not replying to.

Dogs should be on a lead.

OP posts:
LilacSpunkMonkey · 14/07/2016 16:52

You can keep saying it.

It doesn't make it true.

Grassgreendashhabi · 14/07/2016 16:53

Course it's not true it what I think should be happening.

Ffs

And the majority of people don't agree.

So maybe take it up with your council instead of refusing to engage with people here and repeating yourself over and over like a stuck record.

WiMoChi · 14/07/2016 17:08

So because you don't like dogs, everyone must come round to your POV and agree that dogs need a seperate areas in parks?

No. It won't work like that. Most people like dogs

KoalaDownUnder · 14/07/2016 17:14

You don't have to be 'a fan' of them, though. Confused

You just have to not be so uptight and intolerant.

Lilly948204 · 14/07/2016 17:14

I think children should be on leads 😜 and dogs are fine off the lead as long as they behave and aren't in the children's play area etc. I've seen This post so many times and I would always argue that people take their kids to the park rarely when the weather is nice compared to dog walkere who go every day so why should they be restricted. Dog owners should be responsible and pick up poo though, it is gross not to.

Grassgreendashhabi · 14/07/2016 17:16

Regardless of whether you like my answer it's the truth

I'm not lying or making up a story about not liking them. It's just the honest truth

I'm not a fan of them. Can't say I hate them just not keen.

OP posts:
KoalaDownUnder · 14/07/2016 17:18

Oh god, this is pointless.

Okay, good luck with that.

NeedACleverNN · 14/07/2016 17:18

Course you can say you hate them.

That's fine. But trying to dictate where they are and aren't allowed because you Don't like them, is not fine

insan1tyscartching · 14/07/2016 17:22

How tall are you if the staffy tried to lick your face? Only I'm not quite five foot and my neighbour's St Bernard can't reach my face if I'm standing although he generally chooses to sit on my feet instead I'm thinking you'd have to be half my height for a staffy to reach your face Hmm

Lilly948204 · 14/07/2016 17:22

I think it's really funny that people post an opinion and then get really annoyed that not everyone agrees with them. I do what wonder you expect with posts like this?

Agreed Navy

This is actually a very gentle thread for dogs!

cavkc123 · 14/07/2016 17:28

Ok so dogs are no longer allowed in your separate area.

But you haven't answered what you would do about cats, birds, foxes and all manner of wildlife having a wee on the 'humans only' grassed area

I'm annoyed the OP is using a dogs or kids argument as if no one else has a right to use a park if they aren't accompanied by a dog or a child.

Grassgreendashhabi · 14/07/2016 18:01

I specifically said I don't hate dogs, I said I'm not a fan

I did not say dogs should not be in park and only children should be

I said that I think their should be a dog free grass area in park not just a dog free swing area.

Read what I said!

I was bending down ( squatting ) putting something in bag (baby bag) hence dog got to my face

For fuck sake. I'm not lying I'm not a midget i was squatting
