DS has cut himself, while playing out with his friends (private school, so summer holidays) and I'm not sure if A&E is needed. Thanks xx

Ask the chemist. They were fantastic for us when DS2 cut his foot and when DS3 cut his head.

Finally I've managed to clean it for him as much as I can. It's on his back, but on the side bit too.

We have no clinics. I think I need to take him to get it sorted though. Thanks all, will take him now

Yep A&E with that!

P1nkP0ppy · 11/07/2016 15:10

No choice, A+E for stitches or glue. It's deep and needs cleaning properly plus tetanus booster.

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 11/07/2016 15:11

A&E, that needs to be sorted out professionally.

Mrsmorton · 11/07/2016 15:12

Yes, that needs looking at.

KayTee87 · 11/07/2016 15:15

Ouch yeah that needs looked at Flowers

hellsbellsmelons · 11/07/2016 15:18

Crikey that's nasty.
Get to your minor injuries unit or A&E.
I hope he's OK.

PointlessUsername · 11/07/2016 15:23

Wow that looks sore.

Op ds is feeling better soon.

tinyterrors · 11/07/2016 15:29

That definitely needs a proper clean and either glue or stitches or he'll end up with a nasty scar. He'll have a scar regardless but in my experience when a cut like that is properly seen to the scar is much neater and heals better than when they're left.

acasualobserver · 11/07/2016 15:35

What?! Did you really need to take and post a picture to realise that wound needs medical attention?

kali110 · 11/07/2016 15:40

Erm yes that meeds medical Attention.

acasualobserver · 11/07/2016 15:52

Also, three hours have passed since your OP and the posting of the picture.

SilverHawk · 11/07/2016 19:24

That looks really deep and need stitches. I hope that you've been seen. How is your DS now?

sepa · 11/07/2016 19:29

Blurgh. Hope he is Ok op

WaffleOverload · 11/07/2016 20:47

I'm surprised at this. You really needed to waste hours on here when he has a cut like that? I know advice and reassurance from other parents is a good thing but surely you could tell that that needed immediate medical attention?

redpinkblue · 11/07/2016 21:35

Why did you come on to MN to ask about this?? Surely to god you know that needs looked at. Get to a&e asap

Lemonlady22 · 11/07/2016 21:44

it cant be that bad if you are on here asking if he should go to a and e.....the answer is NO.....go to the chemist a buy a box of plasters!

I can't believe you need to ASK if that needs A&E or not! Hmm

GinIsIn · 11/07/2016 21:47

There's a gaping hole in your child - of course it bloody needs A&E!

PeppaPigTastesLikeBacon · 11/07/2016 21:48

Lemon don't look at the photo vom

SilverHawk · 11/07/2016 22:00

Might have been the nanny.
TBH I thing the media have done such a great brain washing job that people are nervous to go unless their head is hanging off (I exaggerate)

MiscellaneousAssortment · 11/07/2016 22:08

Hope it's all sorted now and the gaping wound is now a closed clean reason for sweeties/ tlc!
