AIBU that my husband won't even request flexible working hours?

My husband is on a three week rolling shift pattern. In order for me to go back to work I need him to ask for a change in one Friday shift that occurs every three weeks from a 7-3 to a 10-6. He's refusing to even consider asking. Because of his rolling shift pattern it limits the type of works and day I can work so I don't end up just working to pay childcare. There are people on his team who have flexible working hours approved so I know it's not impossible. He just wants me to work around his shifts.

Dh and I have a reasonable way for sorting out childcare fairly. That said there is n o way I would ever be reliant on him for my future earnings or life
Style. Divorce , death, illness what would you do to support you family should these occur . Take the job and leave the Friday for,him to sort out .you are otherness setting. Precedent for anything that your kids need for to future , as y being the one responsible for sorting out.

With the best will in the world though, having children in ft childcare, even good/great childcare isn't a great deal for the dc - and this is my situation. They just don't get as much individual attention so ideally people stay together and split the gains of the overall family money...it's sad when that doesn't happen though and the partner that spent more time with the dc just ends up with fewer options. Divorce should place a monetary value on lost earning potential - wouldn't that be nice

I'd be pricing daycare breakfast club (which is pricey), and tell. him he has the choice to ask about the shift and get it changed or he pays the bill.
