to take a wheeled hold-all as a labour bag?!

Sorry trivial I know. I've got a hold-all with wheels AIBU to take this as a labour bag. DH thinks it's far too big and will be in the way?
What do you think?

I took a wheely cabin bag sized suitcase.
I think it'd be fine.

I took 2 holdall a first time as I had pre eclampsia so it was what dh could find!

With ds I had a medium suitcase on wheels x

I'm glad I'm not being silly then. With DD I took a small bag and it wasn't big enough and a nightmare!

Wheeled cabin bag for dc2. Great idea, I sat it on the visitors chair next to me and it held everything.

Dc1 I did the "bag for me" "bag for baby" thing and it was a right faff.

Most people take at least a cabin sized suitcase.

He can always take it with him and leave you with what you need, if it goes smoothly and your going to be out, quickly.

It's easier to have everything together, in something on wheels. Then just carry the baby out, in the Car seat.

Very sensible. I had a big suitcase. I was in for 8 days though and DH wasn't great at bringing stuff in.

I'm a midwife and many women bring in wheeled cabin bags etc when they come into hospital.

Stillunexpected you know what men are like. I got the "how much stuff do you think you'll need". He has no idea ha ha!

I took a cabin sized suitcase on wheels. Ended up with an EMCS and was in for 5 nights and needed loads more stuff!

It is less about the "need" than the want, but unless you are planning on taking a matching 5 piece set of bags for a percieved overnight stay, you are are hardly going overboard with the one piece.

I took one and although I didn't need half the stuff in it I'm glad I took it as I did not want to be hefting bags around immediately after birth - and that was with a fairly straightforward delivery.

Took a wheeled cabin bag with DD and it didn't have half enough stuff, luckily lived with mum who bought bits in every day as I ended up in for a few days.
Same bag packed this time and doesn't feel like there's enough room, partly because I'm not sure I'd trust DP to bring me the things I want or need and mum may be on holiday! 😁

I took a small rucksack. I saw someone with a very large case- the size i'd take for a three week holiday for a family of 4.

Nappies, vests/sleepsuits. Couple of nighties for me. Wipes and toiletries. What else do you need?

We had about 3/4 bags including one full of food! Blush we had visions of being in hospital in slow boring labour for days when in reality I arrived at hospital, DD was born two hours later and we were home the next day so barely used anything!

I took a suitcase Grin. But you get your own room in our local hospital's maternity wing so I didn't have to worry about space.

I took a massive North Face bag, it was huge, but I didn't care - I didn't want to be caught without something since it is a 5 hour round trip to the hospital!

My DH won't be able to be there all of the time so I wanted to make sure I had everything to hand. Didn't think I was BU!

Sounds brilliant. I was hefting 3 small bags for DD. Was being induced so one was on the basis I would be in pre labour for a day or two.

I took 2 suitcases. One for me, one for the baby. With DC2 and 3 I sort of knew I'd be staying in hospital a while though.

2 suitcases here too, one for me and one for baby.
Knew I'd be staying 2 nights so hair straighteners, make up, toiletries, clothes, mattress sized fanny pads etc etc.
Meant I wasn't searching for stuff. But space wasn't an issue as in own room.

Bloody hell I must be either minging or very low maintenance! We took a small bag and my handbag. Undies and nightie, plus pads for me, a couple of cloth nappies for the dc (our hospital provided cloth nappies for the overnight stay) and a going home outfit. (They also provided nighties for the dc). Slimmed down to everything rolled up in my handbag for dx 2 and 3 ( although with dc3 I was only in for a few hours).

Never really got the massive nappy bag thing either!
