We've got someone coming Mon-Weds next week to build some cupboards and change kitchen layout a bit. One bloke. I was going to buy nice biscuits and make sure tea/coffee/milk/sugar is well-stocked. DH thinks we should make him up some sandwiches and get in some extra crisps and chocolate bars. We live a 3 minute walk from a large supermarket and an excellent chippy. Who IBU?

When our kitchen was being fitted, I was laid up in bed with really bad flu so just showed the guys where tea and biscuits were and asked them to help themselves.
Every couple of hours, they made me and left it at the top of the stairs and just shouted to let me know it was there.
Best workmen ever. I must have looked so rough

MrsRonBurgundy · 02/07/2016 06:20

Made me a tea that should say!!

VioletBam · 02/07/2016 06:21

Aw bless them Ron! That's so nice.

MrsRonBurgundy · 02/07/2016 06:30

It was really lovely Violet
Very thoughtful. They also probably didn't want my germs!

VioletBam · 02/07/2016 07:25

Yes! They were probably saying "Go on...it's your turn to deliver...keep her up there for God's sake!" Grin

We are having work done and our plumber, also a friend of DH has a very dry sense of humour and unless you know him it's hard to tell if he's trying to be funny or not. He was doing some work for one old dear and mentioned that lack of scones and jam, it was said in jest but the next day he turned up to fresh scones, with jam and cream and a pot of tea, he ended up doing a fair bit of extra work without charging her for it because he felt guilty about it.
They are adults and as such perfectly capable of feeding themselves.

Aww Ron that's lovely! I'm enjoying all the nice tradesman stories and romances (and shagging) in this thread. I think tradesmen often get a bad rap.

Inertia · 02/07/2016 07:48

We usually make bacon sandwiches for elevenses - some then work through lunch and finish earlier, some go out for lunch a little later. Lots of tea / coffee / cold drinks in summer, with biscuits or teacakes. Once made a cake for a team of workmen we had in, as I'd forgotten to get biscuits.

We've often found that tradespeople who are well looked after tend to go the extra mile to help us when they can.

The last lot I had in where replacing my front door. I was stuck inside (because door) so ordered myself and the tradesmen pizza for lunch. They were grateful but DP thought I was nuts.

Hahha your husband blatantly did not say this did be op? Are you a fellow feeder?

Littlepeople12345 · 02/07/2016 08:23

People are always feeding my DH. He often sends pictures of beautiful bowls of soup and homemade bread/ cakes. Last week he had a full sit down homemade curry for lunch with a lovely couple.

He does enjoy food!

But then he also gets people who don't even bother to offer him a drink.

WellErrr · 02/07/2016 08:29

For the million pounds an hour they charge mine can bring a flask and their own biscuits.
