There should be Cat Wardens, cats should wear nappies or be kept inside!

Pregnant. Partner hardly home. Cat uses my front garden, back garden and PORCH as the preferred venue for his poo parades. It's gross and I can't pick it up as don't want to catch Toxoplasmosis. Feel pissed that I even have to. Parter pissed at having to go on poo collection duty when he gets back. Cat laws are needed!

Why? Does them no harm. Not toxic if ingested. Strongly disuaded owner from allowing it out to shit on my kitchen floor. Obviously not hot if that is what you are thinking. Seeing those lovely greasy paws pad off to wreck its owners carpet for a change was quite satisfying and considering I'd warned her numerous times to keep it out of my house, she got off lightly. It was coming in several times a week and ds was only just crawling at the time and had he crawled through cat shit in his own home, dp was fully intending to gather it up and leave it all under the lid of her bbq.

PPie10 · 27/06/2016 19:55

I absolutely hate cats. Water gun and blast the awful things when you see them.

Fluffycloudland77 · 27/06/2016 19:59

Bit sensible Laiste

The bingo card for cat poo threads is;

Wanton & widespread child destruction
Lazy owners not providing litter trays
Chilli pepper
Lemon peel
Lion poo
All cats should be house cats
Super soakers

I called house ages ago.

Laiste · 27/06/2016 20:01

Sorry fluffy Grin

Fluffycloudland77 · 27/06/2016 20:06

It's ok Laiste 😹😹

PaulAnkaTheDog · 27/06/2016 20:11

How the fuck would we go about a change in law, where people are responsible for their cats going into gardens? Shall we let the owners claim unemployment benefit due to cat ownership to allow them to follow them all day and shovel up their shit?

Owning a cat is a lazy pet owner? I love these threads, they truly show people as a batshit they clearly are.

I hear you OP. All the cat owners asking how they stop their cats pooing in other people's gardens: you do not have to have a cat. THEY ARE NOT COMPULSORY.

If you really want a cat then live in a rural area, have a large garden that you can catproof to stop them getting out. Teach them to go in a litter tray. If you can't do those things, then I don't think you should be allowed a cat.

PaulAnkaTheDog · 27/06/2016 20:24

So Becky what is your solution for all the cats that are currently around? Do you want them culled? Some people must just spend their days with a permanent bulldog-chewing-a-wasp face.

Fluffycloudland77 · 27/06/2016 20:27

But we DO teach them to go in a litter tray. How do you think we get through months 3-6 before we let them out to infect the world?.

It's not my fault "hot blonde with the dick boyfriend" puts bark chippings all over her garden. It's like one giant litter tray for my cat and "the bigger B&W cat who isn't quite right".

HoneyDragon · 27/06/2016 20:36

If you know it's definitely one cat and its owner why not point out your uterusly challenged state and ask if they'd mind picking it up?

Fluffycloudland77 · 27/06/2016 20:37

I'd love to be a cat warden. I'd walk round all day with a uniform ticketing unlicensed moggies (stapler? Superglue?) and issuing on the spot fines for fouling then escort them home to give their owner a good ticking off.

The strays would be festooned like an abandoned car.

It's really not ok to throw cooking oil on a cat. Close your window and spray the frame with repellent. Poor cat.

Zwellers · 27/06/2016 21:41

Just want to say that the biggest fallacy on these threads is the statement that's cato always Burry their poo. They so don't. Have quite frequently watched my neighbours cats poo in my back garden and front garden troughs without burying anything

StarryIllusion · 27/06/2016 21:57

ODFOD. Do you have any idea how hot it is in the summer. Bollocks if I'm shutting all my windows so someone else's cat doesn't come in for a crap. It's my house and owner is damn lucky not to have it all back through her windows for letting it shit where my baby crawls. It does no harm, you've yet to give a single reason why oil on the fur and paws would harm it and it got a nice fuss and cuddle while I slicked up its paws. Besides it worked so this particular cat is no longer an issue.

elodie2000 · 27/06/2016 22:02

Cats here absolutely do not bury their poo. They poo on the grass, on the path, on the drive and in amongst the plants. I hate cats.
We have bought several of those electric sound cat scare things and they hate it. They squawk/meow/hiss loudly when they walk past one and trigger the sound. We are seeing less of them thankfully. They also don't like the plastic cucumbers DH has dotted around and dart off when they come across them. (They get moved around by DH who hates cats more than me.) They are starting to dislike our cat unfriendly garden. Maybe there will finally be a day when are garden doesn't stink and look like a litter tray...

CantAffordtoLive · 27/06/2016 22:03

OFFS aren't you precious. Dear Lord I wonder what the world is coming to!

Just use a bag, use a glove, use an antibacterial hand wash!

A cat does what a cat does! What do you expect of it? They are not trained like dogs! That is the beauty of a cat. For goodness pull yourself together and get on with it. If that is worst thing you have going on in your life then you should be sodding grateful. Wimp. Call yourself a woman. You should have lived through the bloody war.

elodie2000 · 27/06/2016 22:05

Our not are!

elodie2000 · 27/06/2016 22:07

Cantafford - Why should OP have to pick up ANY cat poo? She doesn't own a cat!

Oldraver · 27/06/2016 22:10

You're right. And foxes and badgers and birds should all wear nappies too. And hedgehogs, they produce a shocking amount of poo.

Dont forget the snails and pesky pigeons...snails can shit for England

AppleMagic · 27/06/2016 22:16

Honeydragon because as you can see from this thread, most cat owners don't give a fuck. My experience is that they'll tell you it's a fox even when you tell them you've seen their cat do it. They just don't want to know.

I think the only way to make cat owners care is to lobby your MP/councillor for Australian-style laws on cat ownership in urban areas. Or move to Canada Grin

Expellibramus · 27/06/2016 22:18

It's not really worth the argument is it? It's not like anybody is not going to have a pet cat due to the whinge of a (pregnant!) woman on mumsnet.

I'm sure during your lifespan you have polluted the world a thousand times over than that of a pet cat, but really, irrelevant per above.

HoneyDragon · 27/06/2016 22:19

Yes but Mnetters aren't people.

My neighbours cat went through a prolonged campaign of vomiting on my doorstep. She realised and used to clean it off when she saw it. Never even had to ask her.

CarefullyAirbrushedPotato · 27/06/2016 22:19

My front garden is rank with feline faeces, I've had to give up as nothing deters the horrible creatures.
YANBU, it's vile.
And it's nothing at all like baby poo to whichever deluded soul suggested that. If it was I'd think the baby was very very ill
