From what I've seen so far, she is biting like a shark for no.10 allready, while Johnston is reluctant at best to
take it on. I always had a nasty feeling she keeps Thatcher's photo in a silver frame on her nightstand. Even the possibility of her at the helm is blood freezing, IMO...

Was she in Church? So you approve of a powerful female political figure having to partially cover herself up so just so she can talk to men? Culture is irrelevant this is Britain we're talking about.

LittleLionMansMummy · 27/06/2016 17:16

Well she obviously doesn't have a problem with it so why should I? As for 'this is Britain' what does that mean exactly? The last time I checked people are still free in Britain to practise whatever religion they choose and respect customs accordingly. Do you have a problem with nuns covering their hair or just Muslims?

peachpudding · 27/06/2016 17:19

I dont see anything wrong with her covering her hair. I would have a problem if it went more extreme and she had to cover her face as well.

WhirlwindHugs · 27/06/2016 17:24

May wants rid of the human rights act!

Supposedly just so she can deport criminals - which tbf I can see that being her genuine justification, but I would not trust the rest of the front bench Tory MPs with no human rights act. The benefits cutting team would wet themselves with joy if they no longer had to bother considering anyone's rights to safe housing etc

BumbleNova · 27/06/2016 17:26

supersoft you must be a troll. that is the most ridiculous comment. She is being respectful of other cultures. its called tolerance and understanding.

I agree with others that I trust Teresa to do a good job of the negotiations. she is not up shit creek like BoJo who seems to be frantically rowing backwards. whats that Boris? you cant agree to stop free movement if you want free trade? yes love we have all been saying that for months...

AnneElliott · 27/06/2016 17:26

I think she would be good. She's clever, hard working and has an eye for detail. Also the longest serving Home Sec in nearly a Century I believe.

That's quite an achievement.

NaughtToThreeSadOnions · 27/06/2016 17:45

Culture is very relevant Supersoft. Like it or not britan is based on a multi culture society!

Her position in society is the thing that's irrelevant.

Ok I don't necessary agree with any woman having to bow and cower to men, but then I don't get that impression she is she's being respectful to their culture and their talking to her as an equal.

revealall · 27/06/2016 19:16

I wanted Adam Afriyie

Such a shame he probably won't be as he was a Remainder. He does come across very well though.

PaulDacreCuntyMcCuntFace · 27/06/2016 19:39

There's a funny post floating around on my FB newsfeed, which I'll C&P.

PaulDacreCuntyMcCuntFace · 27/06/2016 19:40

Right. Fuck this. We're ALL up shit creek and we need a paddle. Now, not in three months.

Fellow Remain voters: Enough already. Yes, we're all pissed off but navel gazing ain't gonna help. Not all 17 million Leave voters can possibly be racist northern pensioners without an O level to their name. Maybe they have a point about this quitting the EU thing? Maybe not. Whatever, we are where we are and no amount a whinging is gonna change that. Allegedly we're the intelligent ones, so get your thinking caps on.

Leave voters. Well done. Good game. We hear you. Now you need to get stuck in to the aftermath and not just piss off back to Wetherspoons. (Just banter, twats!). And the first person to say they "want their country back" gets deported to fucking Gibraltar. OK?

Politicians.

David. Fuck off. Shut the door behind you. Now.

George. You may be a twat but you're our twat. Plus you know the passwords for our Junior Savers account. Get your calculator. Drop the face-like-a-slapped-ass routine. You're on.

Boris. Sorry mate. That photo of you abseiling by your scrotum over the London Olympics while waving a Union Jack can't ever be un-taken. Plus, you'll never be able to appear on Question Time again without some sturdy Glaswegian nurse asking where the fuck her 350 million quid is. Not only will she have a very good point, she'll be wearing a T shirt that shows you gurning in front of that fucking bus! No captains hat for you I'm afraid.

Theresa. You're in charge love. Get the biggest shoulder pads you've got. We need Ming The Merciless in drag and you'll scare the shit out of 'em.

Nicola. Yep. Fair cop. You probably could get us on a technicality, as could London. But we fucking love shortbread. And oil. And to be honest you're probably the best politician we've got, so we need you on side. Sort your lot out and we promise never to mention that Jimmy Krankie thing again (although it is pretty uncanny) and we'll make you a Dame once we're sorted. Bring Ruth Davidson. She kicks ass.

Opposition party. We'll need one. Someone take Jeremy and John back to the British Legion Club where you found them. Take Nigel as well. Give back their sandals, buy them a pint, then go to Heathrow and collect David Milliband. Fuck it. Let's get Ed Balls as well. He keeps George on his toes. I think he works on the lottery kiosk at Morrisons now?

Oh. And Mark Carney. Give him a knighthood and tell him to keep that shit coming. We definitely need more of that good shit!

Everyone set? Right. Hold the Easyjet. We're going to Brussels and this ain't no hen party.

Adam Afriye wasn't a remainer, see his statement of 20th June.

fleur34 · 27/06/2016 21:02

I really hope May gets the leadership - sooo much better than the others!

BaboonBottom · 27/06/2016 21:05

PaulDacreCuntyMcCuntFace
Brilliant, best plan I've seen

Pommes · 27/06/2016 21:19

Paul, you have really cheered me up.

BMW6 · 27/06/2016 21:49

Best plan so far Paul

Now, how to get it to Westminster and PLP........

CautiousVisitor · 27/06/2016 23:16

Theresa May enacted immigration rules which separated genuinely loving families and then told the public it was to stop terrorists claiming the right to family life with a cat. She lies and misleads with the best of them.

She supports repealing the human rights act. Snoopers charter.

I am terrified of the prospect of her as PM. She made me ashamed to be British after what she put mine and other families through. There was no compromise, fairness or compassion in her decisions about family immigration.

Muddlingalongalone · 27/06/2016 23:26

I don't know who I would want tbh - but she's been itching to get rid of the human rights act for ages & I can't see a positive for the country of a leader who hates the people.
As if zero hrs contracts etc aren't shit enough.
Weird how the Germans still manage to have a successful economy despite having decent works councils.

AyeAmarok · 27/06/2016 23:31

I'd feel safest with Teresa May at the helm. Smart, cool-headed, tough, pragmatic, hard-working and doesn't duck the big issues.

However I still think Boris should have to clear up the mess he's made.

Paul's post has been trending on social media all day.

kirinm · 28/06/2016 09:20

Urgh and now Hunt is in the frame. Isn't it brilliant that we don't get a say.

roarfeckingroar · 28/06/2016 09:23

I actually do keep a picture of Thatcher framed and have a quote of hers painted on my wall. It reads "the problem with socialism is eventually you run out of other people's money".

YAY BREXIT

supersoftcuddlytoys · 28/06/2016 09:23

You can think of me as a Troll if it pleases you - I'm not interested.

For all you people who "have no problem" with Theresa May cowering to misogyny, because it's all in the interests of Multiculturalism and 'showing respect' . How about these men 'showing respect' and cultural understanding to Theresa May's culture? The culture that doesn't dictate to women that they must partially remove their identity from the public sphere just in order to talk to men?

I feel very let down by T May for doing this. All women and men flipping well should, FGS!

BumbleNova · 28/06/2016 09:28

I'm not sure I appreciate you dictating what my reaction should be super. it is clear she is somewhere where that head wear is appropriate. I think your response is a very black and white.

supersoftcuddlytoys · 28/06/2016 17:10

she is somewhere where that head wear is appropriate That would be out in the open, in a public place, here in Britain? This is an 'appropriate place' where women should feel obliged to cover their heads when in the presence of certain men, allowing them to dictate what she should wear?

What a wonderfully progressive step, and what a triumph for gender equality !!!!
