To be worried about going to EU on holiday because of Brexit?

Totally paranoid perhaps, but I'm worried that we are now the most hated nation in Europe and could have problems overseas. I realise that countries wouldn't want to damage their tourism, but equally I'm concerned that there will be many seriously disgruntled Europeans who may want to seek some form of retaliation. The way some of the Poles here have been treated in the last couple of days has been truly shocking and, I have to say (naive of me I know), totally unexpected. It makes me want to leave the country tbh but I know I won't be welcome anywhere else!

Yes, Germans are easily the most hated/distrusted in Europe. 70 years is not that long ago and it is most unfortunate that Germany has the upper hand and a tight hold of the kitty in the EU.......Hmm

I've googled how to say "I voted remain" in Italian Grin Can't imagine anyone gives the tiniest shite.

A bit paranoid maybe. There's been a lot of hysteria on Facebook etc but I think that people are more likely to want to talk about the football. Obviously Brexit made headlines abroad but I don't suppose anyone in other EU countries is losing loads of sleep over it.

Interesting to hear they've just been laughing about our stupidity overseas rather than being pissed off with us

No doubt that's what Junckers/Tusk/Merkel/Hollande and co would like the world to believe, but the truth is that far more of our continental cousins than the 17.4 million Brits who voted to leave the EU want to follow our lead.

I'm in Sweden. Brexit occupied the whole of the news all day long with reported outside house of commons. PM made an announcement saying we will make new trade deals. Had a couple of locals saying congratulations dispite me saying I didn't vote. Others are curious. No hate from Sweden

Goddess. True, there is talk of Svexit here too.

We live in Belgium; no anti British sentiment here - they were more than happy to take my money for my food shop today....they even smiled at me! I wasn't refused a free taster at the BBQ event at one of the shops today, and got a free cornetto as well.

yanbu.
I am going abroad soon and my estate agent rang me today to say the border agency would probably not let me back in. In addition, they will arrest my dogs while I am away and shoot them if I cant prove they are British dogs.
We live in terrible times and I would be at my wits end, if I had one.

I meant my travel agent obviously

WTAF! Do you think the UK is the only country in the EU complaining about the EU? I live in the Netherlands and the difference between us and the Dutch, are they don't have a PM who in order to appease the crazies within his party, gambled and fucked us over. If the economy tanks they won't be the ones suffering because most of those people, aren't half as invested in this country as the immigrants they complain about.

Sadly the scapegoating sentiment isn't restricted to the UK.
