Norway and a few others will hopefully take the plunge

Hopefully some of the other main contributors of the EU will now have their own referendum.

There are a lot of disillusioned people in Europe.
People who like us, didn't expect the EU to get so big, and have to support so many poorer recent members.

Hopefully the whole flawed sorry mess will now collapse.

OP posts:

Unfortunately I don't think it was a joke

LordoftheTits · 24/06/2016 09:58

I don't know whether to laugh or cry here.

CoffeeAndBrexit · 24/06/2016 09:59

I am shocked at the intolerance and snobbery I'm seeing amongst Remain supporters. The assumption that Brexiters are stupid and should not be allowed to vote because they don't agree with them. Very democratic, isn't it Hmm

TheStoic · 24/06/2016 10:01

So Cameron has just resigned?

JellyBellyKelly · 24/06/2016 10:03

Yeah, let's get back to the good old days in the first half of the 20th century when there was no union and we had all those successful and harmonious European countries living and prospering together.
Oh wait ...

As far as I'm aware, the UK didn't vote to leave NATO last night???

LordoftheTits · 24/06/2016 10:03

The assumption that Brexiters are stupid and should not be allowed to vote

The OP is doing nothing to help that image.

HooseRice · 24/06/2016 10:04

Norway aren't in the EU, you tool.

It wasn't a joke folks.

She is explaining her reasons for voting Leave on other threads. I'd like to say that they convey a much more reasoned and intelligent contribution to the debate.

They do not.

BlunderWomansCat · 24/06/2016 10:06

OMG Shock

Theimpossiblegirl · 24/06/2016 10:07

I keep looking for evidence that the Brexiters are well informed and have based their votes on research and evidence. OPs like this are not very reassuring.

YABU for thinking Norway is part of the EU.

The only thing taking the plunge now is the stock market.

cakeycakeface · 24/06/2016 10:11

Is this a spoof post?

JudyCoolibar · 24/06/2016 10:11

The assumption that Brexiters are stupid and should not be allowed to vote because they don't agree with them.

The OP is only one amongst many, many Brexiters who are constantly demonstrating ignorance of absolutely basic facts on which they claim to have based their decisions. I have seen so many of them rejoicing about the most ridiculous things: e.g. that the ECHR is part of the EU and therefore we won't be subject to it any more, that we won't have to agree to free movement if we want any sort of trade with the EU, that immigration will fall dramatically. It's not an assumption of stupidity, it's a conclusion based on irrefutable evidence that people who say they voted for reasons of that nature might not be stupid, but they definitely are too lazy to find out the facts and apply them properly.

I'm sure if we had referenda on other hot topics we would soon have capital punishment back too.

JudyCoolibar · 24/06/2016 10:17

I wouldn't put it past idiots like Gove to bring back capital punishment anyway, thus plunging us straight back into barbarism.

GlindatheFairy · 24/06/2016 10:20

The OP is a perfect example of the ignorant idiots who voted leave. Norway indeed. I wish the leavers would all bugger off and make their own nasty intolerant little 1950s England state and leave the rest of us in peace.

AnnieNoMouse · 24/06/2016 10:20

Give it time …
And in any event, peaceful societies come about where there is economic and political harmony - which we are less likely to have in an ununified Europe.

TopazRocks · 24/06/2016 10:20

OP, my concern with your OP is that you might not have made an informed decision. BTW Jens Stoltenberg (he is a Norwegian politician BTW) was saying the other day that in fact Norway, despite not being IN the EU, pays more into the EU than the UK and has taken in more refugees during the recent humanitarian crisis than the UK per head of population. Interesting, eh?

Anyway, all those hoping the EU will now disintegrate will, I expect, find that where there si a vacuum another similar entity will be created. So there will at some point in the future be another European free trade. All we can hope for is that it will be better run and less corrupt than the current one, but don't hawd yer breathe. (yes, i am one of the Scottish Remain voters and an internationalist)

JellyBellyKelly · 24/06/2016 10:21

definitely are too lazy to find out the facts and apply them properly.

Well, leaving aside the argument that there aren't that many facts known, and that both campaigns relied on spin more than fact... Surely the flip side of this statement is that there has been a failure of our politicians to engage with their issues, leaving them frustrated and venting that anger in the only way they know how?

WhiskyTangoFoxtrot · 24/06/2016 10:29

One thing is, that if you bought into Project Fear, then right now you'll be feeling that fear.

It's not however a universal (or necessarily representative) reaction.

I liked what Khan said this morning.

MrsJorahMormont · 24/06/2016 10:31

Posts like this fill me with quiet despair. How unforgiveable to have given such a momentous decision into the hands of such an ignorant population. It is staggering. Two old Etonians have just sacrificed all us little people so they can carry on a pissing contest. The people who voted for this will largely be the people most hurt by it, except for the elderly who will probably not be here long enough to have to face the consequences of their vote.
