Ok some of us have car stickers in this referendum malarky .. It's just that my car stickers are 8ft by 4ft! (I have a people carrier and got someone to mount them on the roofrack).. So doing my bit I was parked up on a bridge over a dual carriageway where the message in the boards will be very visible to lots of commuters.

The bridge is not an urban clearway. It has a very wide footpath and there were only about four people come past in an hour... Until one chap comes up taking photographs. I ask him what and he says "I am sending this to the police"

I can only assume that he doesn't like the message on my car stickers and wanted to be nasty. Is this what the referrendum is bringing people to

I think this is quite funny. YANBU to want to display your little car sticker humongous sign, parked illegally he WNBU to disagree with said small car sticker. He was a bit mean to threaten the police but he obviously thinks as strongly about this as you do. You are both on sticky ground in the moral stakes.

dowhatnow · 22/06/2016 08:40

was it exit or remain?

memememe94 · 22/06/2016 08:42

It was like this in the Scottish referendum. With the obvious exception of the death of Jo Cox, the intimidation, hostility, and aggression between each side was really scary.

TheHobbitMum · 22/06/2016 08:47

Classy move lol

Alisvolatpropiis · 22/06/2016 09:01
Hmm
BitOutOfPractice · 22/06/2016 09:08

OP I am actually dying of the cringe for you. Please take this thing off your car. It really is just shockingly embarrassing

snorepatrol · 22/06/2016 09:11

I can't wait until Friday I'm sick of people trying to force their views on everyone else over this.

PolitelyDisagree · 22/06/2016 09:26

I'm here for the punch line. 😬

ProfessorPreciseaBug · 22/06/2016 09:26

To clarify..
The road was very congested underneath the bridge.. Traffic managing about 10 mph.
Lots of people park on pavements.. I wonder if he reports everyone.
Will the "car sticker" make a haipeth of differnece?

don't know

If you park on the yellow zig zags outside schools you'll get a lot of families seeing your message. Or, those Parent Toddler parking spaces at the supermarkets.
There's loads of great places!

You are possibly invalidating your insurance unless you have advised your insurance company about your modifications. deliberately missing point of thread

paxillin · 22/06/2016 09:29

Wonder if it works. "Oh, a sign, better change my vote"?

Gowgirl · 22/06/2016 09:30

The disabled places are closer to the door for maximum exposure op! Take two and park sideways....

MovingOnUpMovingOnOut · 22/06/2016 09:31

I dunno about him but you sound silly with your huge banner and parking on the pavement.

If he's anything like me he'll only be reporting those who behave like bellends.

MovingOnUpMovingOnOut · 22/06/2016 09:33

It's not a car sticker though is it? It's an advertising hoarding attached to the roof of your car.

Rule 244
You MUST NOT park partially or wholly on the pavement in London, and should not do so elsewhere unless signs permit it. Parking on the pavement can obstruct and seriously inconvenience pedestrians, people in wheelchairs or with visual impairments and people with prams or pushchairs.

Whatthefreakinwhatnow · 22/06/2016 09:38

Legalities aside, why would you even want to do this?! Have you literally got nothing else to do?! Confused

willitbe · 22/06/2016 09:38

It does not matter what your sign says - you are breaking the law.

APlaceOnTheCouch · 22/06/2016 09:44

Ok, maybe I'm being dense but even with a people carrier how can you have an 8ft x 4ft 'sticker' without it blocking the windows and hampering visibility? We have a pick-up and if we hung something of 4ft from the roofrack, it would obstruct the windows. Confused

Either way, he WNBU and wasn't a nasty little man. But, thank you for one of the more lighthearted threads of this campaign Grin

In my mind, I've redacted any mention of the referendum. However, I do take offence at the use of the word little as a derogatory term. My teenaged DS is short, and I hate the way people talk about short people. Hmm

Ambroxide · 22/06/2016 09:50

8 foot by 4 foot is NOT a car sticker. You sound deranged.
