Ok some of us have car stickers in this referendum malarky .. It's just that my car stickers are 8ft by 4ft! (I have a people carrier and got someone to mount them on the roofrack).. So doing my bit I was parked up on a bridge over a dual carriageway where the message in the boards will be very visible to lots of commuters.

The bridge is not an urban clearway. It has a very wide footpath and there were only about four people come past in an hour... Until one chap comes up taking photographs. I ask him what and he says "I am sending this to the police"

I can only assume that he doesn't like the message on my car stickers and wanted to be nasty. Is this what the referrendum is bringing people to

So - your question is basically "was he BU or was he BU?" ? Grin

yep that must be it. Not that an eight foot banner purposely put in sight of drivers over a bridge on a dual carriageway is ridiculously distracting and dangerous.

AugustaFinkNottle · 22/06/2016 07:50

It sounds very much as if OP was on the footway, otherwise her reference to it being side and only a few people coming past is irrelevant. I must say, if I saw a sign displayed in such a daft manner I wouldn't be too impressed by the views of the person displaying it.

AugustaFinkNottle · 22/06/2016 07:51

Sorry, reference to the footway being wide, not side.

fastdaytears · 22/06/2016 07:52

This is 100% a reverse...

Whatthefreakinwhatnow · 22/06/2016 07:55

Jesus, are you serious?! You are lucky ypu didn't cause a bloody accident!

Stop being such a prat and for gods sake, get rid of the stickers! I can imagine what the neighbours are saying about you! 😂

This is just plain daft for many reasons.

Interesting that people assume they were OUT stickers though, OP doesn't actually say that, or am I being dense and missing it?

Scarednoob, I was just thinking that too!

Also think this is a reverse....

Gowgirl · 22/06/2016 08:01

I assumed out but to be fair both sides are mudslinging. Tomorrow we can all go put our tuppence worth in and regain some sanity hopefully.

scarednoob · 22/06/2016 08:01

The original post is just insane. But people immediately assume that someone who is that bonkers is campaigning OUT, which is more interesting than the OP.

Maybe they're right Grin

branofthemist · 22/06/2016 08:10

Why is everyone assuming it's out.

Both sides have been complete idiots.

youshouldcancelthecheque · 22/06/2016 08:11

Illegal campaigning, well done OP.

Get rid of the banner, it's making you look foolish and probably embarrassing your family.

Jasonandyawegunorts · 22/06/2016 08:12

I assume this is a mumsnet social experiment, seeing if people think you are in or out. and seeing if peopel will side with the Make or female of the story?

Gowgirl · 22/06/2016 08:12

She's doing it for her familleeeGrin

Jasonandyawegunorts · 22/06/2016 08:13

"And seeing if people will side with the Male or female"

Penfold007 · 22/06/2016 08:14

He wasn't a 'nasty little man' , your advertisement breached the Highways Act and the Town and Country Planning Act as well as being a hazard.

GissASquizz · 22/06/2016 08:15

Do you have a loudspeaker?

Gowgirl · 22/06/2016 08:17

Thanks op a little light relief from a facebook feed full of spurious claims and self righteous twaddle!

Gowgirl · 22/06/2016 08:18

Ooooohhh get a loud speaker!
You could sway an undecided person and win the referendum, think of the glory!

Jasonandyawegunorts · 22/06/2016 08:19

All you need to do is follow the worms!

FoggyBottom · 22/06/2016 08:22

I think an 8' x 4' poster is NOT a car "sticker" and you were parked to be visible. You were canvassing - I don't know whether that's legal or not, but you're not just sporting a car sticker or window poster ...

TondelayaDellaVentamiglia · 22/06/2016 08:30

Not sure adapting and using your car as a advertising hoarding comes under the social, domestic and pleasure remit of standard car insurance...did you inform them of the adaptations to your vehicle?
