I'm 41, he's 67(!?!), but i'm obsessed, want to write florid fanmail and am watching you tube clips of him all the time. Talk about undignified Blush .

I'm going to rewind too..,you'll have to beat me to it Grin

Mrsraypurchase · 21/06/2016 21:32

OFGS. You can have Leo Sayer. Grin

BillSykesDog · 21/06/2016 21:34

Liz Jones? Is this you? I thought you'd got over all these rock star delusions.

DangerousBeanz · 21/06/2016 21:39

Strangely enough I still have a massive crush on Midge Ure who replaced John Fox.

auldspinster · 21/06/2016 21:44

Alec That's gorgeous.

I still have a crush on Kylie... so I think it's allowed.

MrsOllyMurs · 21/06/2016 21:57

Ooooh, Green Gartside, yes please....... I absolutely adored his voice, not sure what he sounds like now, but just listening to The Word Girl does it for me Smile

auldspinster · 21/06/2016 22:08

Olly saw Scritti Politti live a few years back and he was in fine voice. I think I will drop Foxxy a line, do I mention the sex dream?

BillSykesDog · 21/06/2016 23:45

Urgh. I used to live near Green Gartside. He is a fat ropey nearly 60 year old who dresses like a 15 year old skater and thinks he's God's gift. You really really wouldn't want to go there.

Mrsraypurchase · 22/06/2016 07:18

I think we need a thread about 80s synth and electronic music.

auldspinster · 22/06/2016 08:24

Good idea Mrs Ray Purchase, BTW I love your name!

I've got a crush on Lindsey Buckingham from Fleetwood Mac. Mostly circa 1982 but any age, really! I imagine him singing songs about me Blush

auldspinster · 22/06/2016 13:19

Oh yes, Lindsay Buckingham is hot!

How's this?

"Dear (silver) foxxy

A few weeks ago i dreamt that we made sweet, sweet lurve - wanna a middle aged groupie and do it for real?

Hugs and Kisses

Auld Spinster"

Yes, that's in no way creepy Auld!!

I've started a thread in your honour in chat, but can't link it as my computer skills were frozen in about 1987.

achangeisgonnacome · 22/06/2016 14:28

auld spinster I've gone off David Sylvian, especially as he's seems so miserable these days. If he still looked as he did on the Gentleman Take Polariods cover....

However, brother Steve and John Taylor, oh yes please.

auldspinster · 22/06/2016 14:40

My feelings exactly about David Sylvian, he does seem miserable.

MrsRayPurchase How could he refuse such an irresistible offer?

Adam Ant was, is, and always will be mine. I am prepared to fight all comers for him Grin

BookTart · 22/06/2016 20:29

Posting to stake my claim to Gary Numan. No, I have no shame. Also, you are DNBU about Jon Foxx.

KurriKurri · 22/06/2016 20:44

I saw Adam Any a few years ago at Hard rock in the park. He hasn't aged well (looks a bit like Bobby Ball now) - also he seemed very bitter and shouted at the crowd when they requested old favourites. He wanted to play some new crap songs.

John Foxx on the other hand has aged very well - he's quite the silver Foxx. You should totally send him a creepy letter and become his stalker.

auldspinster · 22/06/2016 23:45

I'm much too lazy to stalk!

yanbu

Pericombobulations · 23/06/2016 00:10

Ah well at least I'm safe in the knowledge Dave Gahan and Wayne Hussey are all mine Grin

ParanoidGynodroid · 23/06/2016 00:45

Oh my god! When I read your title I thought "Oh, that'd be John Foxx for me"
How bizarre.... he wasn't all that well known!

YANBU, he is amazing.

auldspinster · 23/06/2016 08:53

Paranoidgynodroid I'd always been aware that he was the original singer in Ultravox and that he made icy space alien music (i think i might have heard Jim Kerr reference him as Simple Minds were my favourite band from about 10 to 14) but as i was only 4 1/2 when Underpass and Metamatic were released it kind of passed me by.

What piqued my interest was seeing him on Synth Britannia - once i heard that lovely lilting Lancashire accent and what he had to say i investigated his music and thought it was great. He was on Radcliffe and Maconie a few weeks ago, think that's where the dream might have came from!
