She looks amazing for 51. She has two big houses, a boy at a mega posh school and is hanging out with billionaires. Oh, and she has a successful business and her career has had a renaissance with The Royals.

All this from a girl who went to a bog standard comp, had a few strategic shags and is an expert in the art of self promotion. And who can't act.

I want to be like her. Is that so very bad?

Interesting that she managed to not become pregnant for so many years, then mysteriously while dating a billionaire - oops! I'm pregnant! What a surprise.!
She may be attractive but my goodness she has always seemed like a hardheaded and dedicated attention seeker/gold-digger to me.

BitOutOfPractice · 21/06/2016 10:20

I have warmed to her reading this thread.

Yeah what an absolutely horrible post

IlovesLiz · 21/06/2016 11:22

You don"t get any attention seeking, hard headed, dedicated, film actresses, do you?

BettyCrystal · 21/06/2016 11:28

I've always wanted to be a White Jeans Woman... Liz has made it into an art form.

squoosh · 21/06/2016 11:33

How's your accent ILovesLiz? To pass as a true Liz you might need to drop the ordinary accent and up the plummy factor. Just as Liz did.

ElspethFlashman · 21/06/2016 11:34

That Indian bloke she was married to seemed lovely. I shamelessly read that Hello! article of their wedding and she said she'd literally never heard him say a bad word about anybody.

I always thought it was a shame they split up. But who knows if it was her decision or his?

squoosh · 21/06/2016 11:35

What happened to the husband? Did she have him bumped off in a tragic farming accident? Or did he have enough of the glitz and shuffle back to whence he came?

Natsku · 21/06/2016 11:39

My old theatre teacher used to be house mates with her. Said she was a laugh.

IlovesLiz · 21/06/2016 11:44

I think she asked him what he did all day and he replied, "Sponge off you." And then he was history.

My accent is a bit London, bit RP and a bit Hull when i say "it's time to go herm" or "i want a kirk".

Do people seriously not let the fact that she mistreated a servant (settled out of court, so presumably she did it) spoil the fact that they love and admire because she's rich and pretty? Google the case, it can still be found online. Lovely face, but id rather have my plain face than not know the difference between right and wrong. Its the same with Cheryl Cole and her assault conviction...a pretty face seems to override an ugly personality

AgingJuvenileBinkyHuckaback · 21/06/2016 18:29

I think she's done a great job of burying that story harsh - it took a lot of digging up.

Twinkie1 · 21/06/2016 18:36

She's apparently a lovely woman. I don't know her but know someone who does (make up artist) and they mentioned that they knew her because they thought I looked a bit like her Grin (I don't but was very happy with the suggestion that I did). She has the most amazing skin apparently and a fabulous self depreciating sense of humour.

IlovesLiz · 21/06/2016 19:53

Have read the article. Might explain why the husband is no longer her husband...

I like that she brought up her son out of the whole celebrity spotlight thing. Same can't be said for the Beckhams many of today's 'slebs.

harshbuttrue1980 · 21/06/2016 20:16

A lovely women, Twinkie?? Ageingjuvenile posted a link showing the other side of the lovely Liz in the post above yours. Why are so many people prepared to be brainwashed by thinking that a beautiful face means a beautiful person??
Yes, she allegedly paid her servant £1.20 an hour and forced her to work for 70 hours a week - what a great person! The fact that she didn't deny the story but settled out of court makes me believe it. I'm sure she would have denied it if it was made up. If the multi-millionaire Liz wanted servants, couldn't she have afforded to pay more than one of them, and to pay them a decent salary?? Why would you treat someone like that?? If she did do this, then do amount of dieting or facelifts will make her beautiful in my eyes.

YouSay · 21/06/2016 20:21

I don't like her. Very average looking, awful style, terrible actress, fake accent and terrible employer. I could never understand her appeal.

YouSay · 21/06/2016 20:26

Op I don't buy that Liz had no idea her maid was working outrageous hours for tiny money. She worked 7 days a week from morning until evening for buttons including minding her child.

HopeClearwater · 21/06/2016 20:30

Well she got out of Basingstoke and for that you have to congratulate her...

harshbuttrue1980 · 21/06/2016 20:42

How could she possibly not know that her maid was being treated like that?? Surely you would notice that the person who makes you breakfast in the morning is the same person who is still waiting on your lazy ass when you go to bed. If you have staff, it's your moral responsibility to consider them. If you can't afford to treat them properly, then don't have them. She could have easily employed two maids to share the work and paid them a decent wage. Stingy, unethical and totally illegal. But, oh yeh, she's so pretty...she couldn't possibly do something like that!!
Hmmm, yes. Like the gorgeous Cheryl Cole/Fernandes/whoever her latest husband is and her assault charge on the toilet attendant. Or the fragrant Naomi Campbell who was charged with assault for throwing things at her maid.
I wish we could grow up as a society and start looking up to people who do some good in the world, instead of these awful excuses for humanity.
For the people who like her so much, I bet you wouldn't apply to be her maid!

greatscott81 · 21/06/2016 20:52

This is hilarious . . . I wonder how the very beautiful woman made her money . . . yes, it's obviously because she's business minded, and not because she was blessed with ludicrously good looks which enabled her to make millions of pounds and subsequently make more money from her minion fans buying her over-priced swimwear . . .

derxa · 21/06/2016 21:37

I'm sure I posted that she called all non celebrities 'civilians'. Where did that go? I like Shane Warne.

IlovesLiz · 21/06/2016 22:07

Jeremy Paxman got into trou le for employing a Filipino maid without a proper visa.

My hisband has a friend in Hong Kong who makes his maid sleep in a cupboard.

I got up at 7am, made a cup of tea breakfast did school run went to Tesco Boots filled the car up did 5 loads of washing cleaned the oven changed the beds did the school run cooked tea took in washing put son to bed and am now ironing all this washing. I didn't get paid anything.

Ah, Ronnie, don't get me wrong - i've been a single mum. It's bloody hard which makes me admire her all the more, especially as she seems to have A SOCIAL LIFE!!!!!

yeah she must have really struggled being a single parent Grin

her son has been at boarding school for years, hardly on the coal face

i bet she sent him there not only to social climb/make contacts but cant see Liz having a child round her 24/7 some how

YouSay · 21/06/2016 22:32

Ok Op if Jeremy Paxman and your husband's friend treats staff like slaves while meanwhile you are cleaning your home (YOUR OWN HOME!!) for free that is EXACTLY the same thing. The injustice. Glad you cleared that up.

squoosh · 21/06/2016 23:22

I hadn't heard about the mistreatment of her servant!

That's her firmly off my Amusing and Harmless Celebs and on to my Shit List.
