There's a local Facebook group for people to ask questions or whatever and a lady posted with some details about a dead person that has apparently contacted her.
She charged £50 an hour and clearly is just trying to get business.
I said I disagreed with it and she replies
"Wow abinob I'm suprised you think I'm a lying cheating scumbag!"
well yes I do think that but that's not what I said, I just said in reply to someone else saying giving so much detail makes it believable that there's such a thing as Google and Facebook

DH's cousin is one (allegedly) and 2 weeks after my dad (who she never met or saw a picture of) had died, she tried it on me saying he had a message for me, and I should 'pop along to her shop'

She also tried to prove her powers by saying me and my dad have the same chin. I couldn't really recall what his chin looked like and never took much notice of mine. When I went to look at a picture, our chins were nothing alike. I do however have identical eyes and nose to him, it's unmistakeable, and if she was so good she'd have pointed that out.

Fucking bitch exploiting my grief. We went NC after that. My example is not terribly bad, but it absolutely added greatly to my grief the fact that someone wanted to to pretend Dad was talking to me when he wasn't. It took me a long time to stop getting angry about it. Psychics are abusive and nasty and mess with people's feelings, if I hear someone is one I judge them as being a massive cunt

I try to keep a reasonably open mind about these things, since there's so much we don't know. One thing I'm pretty sure of, though, is that things won't be guaranteed to happen because you've handed over a wad of cash ...

meh, there is no more proof for/against psychics than there are religions. As for targetting the bereaved, its no worse than extorting money from anyone else, its still extortion, and victims are still victims. i.e. sending round a letter essentially begging the congregation for money with promises of god looking favourably on you, im sure that works wonders on the elderly
