To think this psychic woman is a twat

There's a local Facebook group for people to ask questions or whatever and a lady posted with some details about a dead person that has apparently contacted her.
She charged £50 an hour and clearly is just trying to get business.
I said I disagreed with it and she replies
"Wow abinob I'm suprised you think I'm a lying cheating scumbag!"
Hmm well yes I do think that but that's not what I said, I just said in reply to someone else saying giving so much detail makes it believable that there's such a thing as Google and Facebook

you don't know about the readings I sometimes give away for free

Much like drug dealers giving stuff away for free at first so they can get people hooked...

Shameless scumbags.

weirdsister · 31/05/2016 11:11

Well she's lied about what you actually posted - that should be obvious to everyone in the group!

stopfuckingshoutingatme · 31/05/2016 11:13

fight fire with fire, she is a thieving scum bitch fake that steals money from bereaved people!

what worra said!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

AugustaFinkNottle · 31/05/2016 11:17

I hope you never ever need the services of a psychic as a help to move forward..."

Reply: I'm sure you will be delighted to know that your hopes are realised. There are no circumstances when I will ever need the services of a "psychic".

The PA use of quote marks is essential.

massivearse · 31/05/2016 11:22

Why don't they charge the dead? Surely if they are down with the 'other side' they can issue them with invoices?

OohMavis · 31/05/2016 11:33

A young man went missing some years ago in my town, said he was off to see friends and never returned. In the news, various appeals for information over the years, leads that never went anywhere...

His parents were contacted by mediums and psychics claiming to know what had happened to him. None of their revelations were pleasant. Drug overdoses, murder and whatnot.

And then he was found in Spain the other week very much alive

They are nasty scumbags Angry

Bolograph · 31/05/2016 11:42

I do. They're as shit as the ones you charge for.

scampimom · 31/05/2016 11:43

Psychics always seem to be really defensive. Not everyone believes in acupuncture - you don't see acupuncturists getting all mardy because someone's suggested it's not real.

I think some of them must believe what they're doing - because I can't bring myself to think that there are that many ghoulish bastards around waiting to pick on the vulnerable and desperate.

2nds · 31/05/2016 11:44

I have to say I once saw a psychic, however this lady charged a fiver and was sitting at the side of a road. I was intrigued and went over to her, i loved the experience, however I wasn't wanting to contact a dead relative, and she didn't pretend to contact a deceased relative either. It was one of the most bizarre experiences of my life lol but I always remember her every time someone mentions mediums and psychics. I have to say I'd love to sit with her again, not necessarily to have my fortune told but she had the most calming presence, I can't describe it, and I never felt conned, I came away feeling so relaxed like I had just been lying on a cloud, totally bizarre. And no she didn't drug me!

scampimom · 31/05/2016 11:46

Every now and again there's an attempt made to study psychics in controlled environments, and they queue up to demonstrate how real their abilities are, then claim that they can't be expected to perform in clinical surroundings etc. Because the spirits of the dead can presumably only come forth in the surroundings of e.g. a village hall or someone's front room.

Waltermittythesequel · 31/05/2016 11:46

"Well I hope I never need a 'psychic' either, considering they don't actually exist."

wol1968 · 31/05/2016 11:47

It's difficult to predict the future, but I'm willing to say with 100% certainty and no errors bars that I will never "need the services of a psychic", because I'm not a gullible fool with more money than sense.

Or, as they might say, you are closed-minded and lack faith and receptivity. Wink

2nds · 31/05/2016 11:49

Ooh Mavis the same thing has happened to the Bryant family, one medium in particular was very famous and told them all this crap and was very graphic about it apparently, yet their son has never been found.
In my opinion some mediums take things way to far. Like I said in my previous thread I went to one, however that kind of thing should be a but of fun and nothing more.

nuttymango · 31/05/2016 11:50

A new girl recently started at dd's school and her Mum started talking to me at the gate and told all about how she was psychic and could also tell the future. When she said she was worried about whether or not her Dd would settle in I had to bite my tongue not to say well you must already know the answer to that.

coco1810 · 31/05/2016 11:52

Well she (psychic) didn't see that coming badish!

echt · 31/05/2016 11:53

All of the above remarks about psychics could be said about any organised religion, though I'm sure there would be respectful apologists crowding round immediately to respect all that shite difference should such a religion be discussed.

That would be Islam/Judaism/Christianity, etc.etc.et fucking c.

Waltermittythesequel · 31/05/2016 11:54

It's not a religion.

kittykat8545 · 31/05/2016 12:07

I think those people should be banned or something from FB. These guys are making money out of people's sadness, which is the most pathetic thing ever. My opinion is their "business" or "help" or whatever should be illegal. Don't get me wrong. I believe in afterlife and stuff, but I definitely do not believe, those twats need money to do it. What, they're having phone bills for contacting dead people? I don't think so.

MyCatWasRightAboutYou · 31/05/2016 12:18

Make up a fake profile with a "dead" family member to catch her out
These people are awful. I don't doubt some genuinely think they have "the gift" or whatever old shit they claim, but yes it's mostly people exploiting the bereaved. Angry

Thatrabbittrickedme · 31/05/2016 12:40

The religions that try and extort money from vulnerable people deserve exactly the same vitriol as "psychics" in my view. Televangelists and their ilk.

Religions that offer support and philosophy without extortion and fraud are not the same thing

Rosenwyn1985 · 31/05/2016 13:26

You could get the "genuine" psychic to apply for this? A million dollars is worth it surely?

Gingermum · 31/05/2016 14:07

A close gay friend of mine had just lost his partner and he was desperate to see a psychic (I did tell him to save his money and see a real therapist) but of course this psychic was different as a friend of a friend (always a friend of a friend) had been to see her and she was amazing!

So I went with him and this 'amazing' psychic lived in a flat reeking of cat pee. After a lot of nonsense about 'someone with the letter e in their name trying to contact' my friend she said that my friend and I would have a long and happy marriage and she could tell us all about it if we gave her more money!

Marriage? This was way before gay marriage, and my friend was wearing a peaked leather cap, a large handlebar moustache and a t-shirt which clearly stated: Queer as Fuck. Never mind second sight this 'psychic' didn't even have the regular kind!

IJustLostTheGame · 31/05/2016 14:41

everyoneelsie I am a psychic and I have a message from your uncle Albert.

Give me £50 and I'll tell you what it is
Grin

LurkingHusband · 31/05/2016 14:54

"Most spiritualists have messages for you from people you know ... I'm a bit different. I have messages for you from people you don't know."

IDontWantToBuildASnowman · 31/05/2016 15:05

Abbinob I read this post and immediately thought, I wonder if this is the same psychic who always posts in the local FB group I am a member of and who recently posted some bollocks about the "owner of a Thomas" or some such shite. Turns out it was. Such a funny post. I find it rather amusing how quickly things turned from simple questioning of the legit nature of what she was saying to those people being named trolls by her core followers. Funny also how apparently you are allowed to question what she is saying but not her honesty - not sure how that is possible if you fundamentally believe psychics are full of crap... either that or you have to question her sanity.
