To think three is the proper amount of biscuits to have?

DuvetDayEveryday · 28/05/2016 18:19

Dh has just taken the biscuit tin away from me as I reached for a third. He says two biscuits is the normal quota and three would be greedy. I say three biscuits minimum is the correct amount to have with your coffee.

I'm right, aren't I? AIBU?

Bourbons?

Seven, minimum.

Neffi · 28/05/2016 19:24

Odd numbers are just wrong so any multiple of 2 should do it. I try and stop at 2, usually have 4 but 6 is not, sad to say, unusual.

rockchick78 · 28/05/2016 19:25

I can eat a full packet ha ha ha! 3 is for part-time biscuit munchers!

MillieMoodle · 28/05/2016 19:25

Op, I am giving my first ever biscuit here Biscuit seeing as your so-called "D"H has deprived you of biscuit number 3. Two is not enough. Three is acceptable. Four is preferred.

As a PP said, the correct number of Jaffa cakes to be eaten with a cup of tea is 12. Grin

Fink · 28/05/2016 19:27

Has to be an odd number. 3 in company. 1/2 packet + (gradually, over an evening) by self.

WiddlinDiddlin · 28/05/2016 19:36

At home, the correct number is half the packet if the OH is home, or the whole packet if he isn't.

I go to a lot of seminars/conferences and there, the correct number of biscuits to take is the number that fit in ones hand without dropping any. Depending on biscuit type/size/design, this is between three and six usually.

You score points if you can manage more, but you lose points if you smear your hand with chocolate, break them and the game is over and you are OUT if you drop any.

2 is insufficient biscuits, if you are only allowed two, why bother at all.

Septbaby · 28/05/2016 20:39

3 and then multiples of! Grin GrinGrin

Crazypetlady · 28/05/2016 21:09

I must go on a diet ConfusedBlush.

CleanHankie · 28/05/2016 21:29

We're a 2 biscuit household here, unless the biscuits are chocolate covered malted milks, then it's most of the packet.

However my old work used to sell those individual packets of biscuits from Cash & Carry in the tea room. They come in 3's and I'd happily demolish those without thinking about it.

cupcakesarah · 28/05/2016 21:31

There was a guardian article about how to eat biscuits. It suggested 3, and ever since, I've agreed with that

Iknownuffink · 28/05/2016 21:33

Three is the magic number.

One in each hand and one in the mouth.

brightnearly · 28/05/2016 21:33

Jaffa cakes ARE NOT BISCUITS!!!!

Geez.

brightnearly · 28/05/2016 21:36

Otherwise I agree with TenWineBottles that it depends on the type of biscuit.

Half a plain digestive is enough.

One jammy dodger per day, max.

A packet of Leibniz chocolate covered biscuits is just about right.

puddleduckmummy · 28/05/2016 21:43

My DH took a packet of biscuits off me once after I'd had 2. I took the packet back and ate every last one, staring belligerently at him the whole time. He never did it again!

YvaineStormhold · 28/05/2016 21:46

I like the cut of your jib, puddleduck

That's exactly what I would do.

ShtoppenDerFloppen · 28/05/2016 21:50

I am in the two biscuit camp... DH is in the 4 biscuit camp.

He says I am delusional to stop at two (even though I usually stop at one and then split the second between pup and parrot).

So... YANBU and I am clearly bonkers Grin

And if you want my extras to hide from your DH when you clearly need more than the ration here you go Biscuit Biscuit Biscuit Biscuit Biscuit Biscuit Biscuit Biscuit Biscuit Biscuit Biscuit Biscuit Biscuit

Take that, Duvet's DH!!!

puddleduckmummy · 28/05/2016 22:19

I think it was when I was pregnant aswell Yvaine, he really should have known better! I would've done the same thing had I not of been pregnant. Not advisable to get between me and food! GrinBiscuitCake

Discopanda · 28/05/2016 22:23

Three for standard, two for bigger luxury ones like posh cookies, 1 for very big, e.g. gingerbread men, giant cookies.

frikadela01 · 28/05/2016 22:29

I work in the NHS... the little packs of biscuits we give out with cups of tea come in 3s. Therefore its as endorsed by the NHS Grin

Treeroot · 28/05/2016 22:30

No biscuits. When presented with biscuits I eat the lot - the plate full, the packet, I'd probably eat the factory full if given the chance. So for me it's no biscuits at all. Don't even have them them in the house.

meowli · 28/05/2016 22:30

Only one in the company of others, followed by three or four more once they've gone! Blush

OSETmum · 28/05/2016 22:39

I can't believe only 2 other people in this thread know that biscuits (and all other foods) must be eaten in even numbers. So you can have 2 or 4 but never 3 sorry!
