Throwing water at a cat

some cat has been bullying my cat for weeks, he comes on my window sill where my cat likes to sit and bullies him, you can see my cat isnt on fighting because the cat is screaming in his face and he is lowering his body.

So my window is open and the cat is arguing again with my cat, i throw water at the cat under my window then go outside and throw more water on him so he runs away.

A woman shouted at me to leave the cat alone, I said no he has been bullying my cat for days and she said she will call rspca on me for animal cruelty. I just slammed the door.

was i wrong?

I chuck vegetable oil at them as suggested by a neighbour. Doesn't harm them if they lick it but is a pig to get rid of and ruins the owners carpet if they don't bathe them. Funny how they keep it out of my house after that. It used to come in through my small window and shred all my net curtains. After 4 sets I got somewhat fed up. Owner apparently cared a bit more when it was her house it was wrecking.

I've got cats and wouldn't mind if someone squirted water at them.

Someone once threw a whole bucket of water over a stray cat that visits though. That was completely twattish.

we had a cat who kept coming in and sprayed and weed in my house. My cat (who is massive tom cat) was scared of this tiny cat!
I filled a large, deep container with water outside the back door and lay in wait, when he came in, I caught him and dropped her in the bucket. He ran off streaming wet.
I did it twice, didn't make any difference I held him under the tap and put him outside, no difference.
This was after lots of shooing and banging and noises and chasing etc. So it was drastic measures. But none of them worked. We got a micro chip cat flap.

Carry on soaking it OP. I have 4 cats and I would have no issue with a neighbour soaking them if they were in their garden.

We had a bully cat visit us once. He went for DH but he ended up in a bath tub full of water. That damped his enthusiasm for getting at my lot.

It's character building.

You carry on OP.

I have 2 cats. My younger cat is just obsessed with me and follows me a lot (7 years of being stalked by my own cat!). My older cat is 10 and he passionately loves people (he is amazing with our 2 year old ds) but he utterly hates other cats. He only tolerates our younger cat because we have made him!

In our old street our older cat used to tear chunks out of a neighbour's cat. The neighbour got very upset and angry (understandably). She told me I needed to keep him inside. I said I wasn't going to do that- he wasn't attacking any other cats but that if she wanted to drench him when he came near her cat she could. She was horrified by my suggestion!

In the end I soaked my own cat one day when he was going for her cat. He never touched her cat again and he and I still love each other.

It is one thing people saying it is just being a cat but you don't want to just watch your cat be fearful all the time- or in my case I didn't want to just watch him being a psycho!

Given the RSPCA weren't interested when I reported one of my neighbours leaving their dog chained up in their garden for hours and hours without food, water or shelter/shade, I doubt they'd be interested in someone throwing water on a cat.

We have a spray bottle which stops our cats ripping up the carpets/furniture, and once or twice my big one has come home soaked so I assume he's been up to no good. I have no issue with it

Usually the dog deals with other cats in our garden
