So far DS 16 months has eaten,
Woodlouse
Sand
Gravel
Dog food (dry thankfully)
Pieces of baby wipes
Stale bread left in the garden for the birds
Antibacterial gel,
And probably loads of other stuff I have missed.

Pizza vomit coated strawberries.

Just after DS started weaning, DH and I were having pizza for dinner and I made DS a little one out of a chapati, some tomato puree, chopped basil and a few strands of grated mozzarella and cut it in slices for him to pick up. It was his first time eating anything with cows milk in. We had strawberries after our pizza, which are so much his favourite that he trembles with delight as he eats them and stares at whoever gave then to him with love.

He loved his pizza and wolfed most of it down but it turned out that he is dairy intolerant and this caused him to vomit over his strawberry several times as he was eating it. I tried so hard to prise it out l
of his hands and mouth but the vomit made it too slippery and there was no way DS was going to let it go willingly. Yuck!

Bird poo. Eaten with glee

haventgotaclue1 · 27/05/2016 20:29

Family you got there just before me - bird poo here too! Grin
And pebbles, snot, woodlouse, she bit into a Nespresso coffee capsule (it was a decaff one) and ended up spitting out loads of ground coffee....

MissMoo22 · 27/05/2016 20:42

His own poo which he thought was chocolate.

TwoLittleBlooms · 27/05/2016 20:46

16 month old DD2 - Cat food, play sand, bits of pages out of books, part of a crayon - I do feed her (and watch her!). Oh and we have a litter tray downstairs ... got to her just in time! But would she eat any of the nice piece of steak we had for tea??? Would she heck!

DD1 never ate anything grim or odd.

girlandboy · 27/05/2016 20:51

DS ate half a slug. He was still clutching one half and there was black juice dribbling down his chin. Mmm yummy Grin

Octonought · 27/05/2016 20:56

I watched my 8 month old eat a rabbit poo - we were having a group picnic at the park and I assumed someone had brought raisins until he started spitting bits out. Nice bright green runny poo the next day but he was fine...Blush

DannyFishcharge · 27/05/2016 20:56

My DD ate her own poo once Shock

andadietcoke · 27/05/2016 20:57

I can't remember how old they were because it's all a bit of a blur, but DT2 ate DT1's poo. I'd left them on the floor in the lounge and gone to get something out of the kitchen and had forgotten to move the dirty nappies out of the way.

DN1 ate a Conservative Party election leaflet. He was covered in blue ink. And family legend has it that I ate a firelighter at about the same age (15m).

Lynnm63 · 27/05/2016 22:51

Ds1 aged about 2 ate a worm. We were out with friends in a pub garden he picked up the worm and popped it in his mouth all four of us shouted noooooo! Time seemed to stand still as we ran to him, By the time we made it to him he'd swallowed it. He was fine, I tried hard not to vomit.
He's now16 and is much more fussy, harder to get him to eat vegetables than worms.

MamaBear98 · 28/05/2016 00:07

My mam minds a little boy who has just turned a year and 9 months today. When they were in the museum my dad runs with the boys mother a
few weeks ago,dad spotted him putting a TOOTH FILLING in his mouth-thankfully dad saw it and then fished it out of him! Shock He puts everything into his mouth but that was a new low! Confused

LikeaSnowflake · 28/05/2016 00:21

Cat food that our cat had thrown up. Just nasty.

2catsnowaiting · 28/05/2016 00:55

Mine haven't eaten anything interesting, that I can remember, though DD did accidentally swallow a 20p at the age of 6 (ie old enough to know better).

My friend's little boy attempted to eat a slow-worm (ie snake type thing) at gardening club when it was being passed round for all the kids to look at!

Friend of mine ate cat food when drunk but that's a different story.

GETTINGLIKEMYMOTHER · 28/05/2016 08:16

When he was very small we once found my brother picking up woodlice and putting their curled up bodies in his mouth. Nice and crunchy, I expect. Didn't apparently do him any harm.

vdbfamily · 28/05/2016 08:51

My son also was found chewing a big slug whilst teething....I can sort of understand that it might feel good for sore gums but even recalling the event makes me heave!! Fortunately I found it before he had 'popped' it!

Myusernameismyusername · 28/05/2016 08:53

Dd2 loved cat biscuits when she was little. She would lick them over then leave them on the floor, on sofa, inside toys. Sticky little fishy cat biscuits.
She's also eaten a ladybird and metamium bum cream

GlassCircles · 28/05/2016 09:10

I can't think of anything dreadful but just wanted to pop on and thank you OP for using 'worst' properly in your thread title.

Gives me hope in a world where so many people would have written 'what's the worse thing your kids have eaten?'

As you were Grin

wallybantersjunkbox · 28/05/2016 09:10

DS was sat on his playmat in the bathroom while I had a shower.

He reached under the radiator (it was off) and pulled out a huge claggy cobweb ball, complete with dead spider and a few flies.

And popped it in his mouth, chewing it thoughtfully.

I saw a scene on Shrek where a makes a cobweb candy floss, it was rather like that.

Oh and he ate his own crap from his nappy on holiday. And Dirty Sanchezed himself.

LegoLady95 · 28/05/2016 09:12

Ds2 was 9 months old when he ate a lump of his brothers poo.

Sapph1r3 · 28/05/2016 09:32

Blue hair dye. Cheap blue hair dye from a packet. She was in her travel cot at a friends house and somehow managed to swipe this from a sideboard. She was three. We gave her a lot of milk and scrubbed the blue off her face - she was devastated.

She's 14 now. I must remind her of this Grin

LittleCandle · 28/05/2016 09:42

DD2 loved eating crayons. The minute she was silent and out of sight, I knew what she was up to and would find her with multi-coloured teeth! Thing is, she is really wary of new food not entirely her fault as she had a restricted diet due to her sister's serious allergy problems and I still don't understand why she was willing to put crayons in her mouth!

Villagebike3 · 28/05/2016 09:43

Child no.1 - cat food
Child no.2 - stone
Child no.3 - a snail (inc shell)
