More of a WWYD... Waitress dropped dish of olive oil onto my phone, now it's broken.

She was very appoogetic, and I wiped it over with a napkin and turned it upside down, but the oil has obviously got in to the piece where you hear people talking to you and you can't hear anything. So essentially, I can't make or receive calls.

Is there anything I can actually do about this? I mean, they're not going to replace my phone are they Confused... Is it just bad luck and move on?

Yes report to police! I don't work with PI claims so don't quote me!

So should I dial 999 and ask for the police if someone spills hot water on me in a restaurant? If if was that bad I think I'd be out of it and would prefer someone to ask for an ambulance.

I meant ambulance....

Well I meant to police if after event. In my friends SIL case an ambulance was called and she went to a&e.

I was in hair dressers. Phone in bag. Girl put chair down hard on my bag and smashed phone. Immediately apologised and called manager. She said insurance would cover it. I had to buy identical phone hand in receipt and got cheque in a few days. Totally helpful apologetic and l couldn't have been happier. They need to pay.

What kind of hairdresser has chairs you can lift up?

I thought they all had proper salon chairs these days.

SuperFlyHigh · 26/05/2016 10:14

june yes if it's salon's fault and clearly can see damage (if accident or not) then they should be covered and pay.

SuburbanRhonda · 26/05/2016 10:27

I want to know about these hair salon chairs that can be lifted up and put down by the hairdresser Hmm

SuperFlyHigh · 26/05/2016 10:29

Mistype by june I think

SuburbanRhonda · 26/05/2016 11:38

Don't think so, super. She says the hairdresser put the chair down hard on her bag. So she must have lifted it up in the first place to put it down again.

SuperFlyHigh · 26/05/2016 19:43

My hairdressers chairs you could lift at a push, vintage ones.... Like lift at side. What was hairdresser doing lifting chair onto a bag though??

SuburbanRhonda · 26/05/2016 20:08

My thoughts exactly, superfly.

I think it might have been a slight exaggeration Wink
