man in Morrisons

I'm pretty sure I'm not BU but I wanted a rant.

So I'm in Morrisons at the self scan checkout when suddenly I take a funny turn. I'm 34 weeks pregnant. My head is spinning and I'm struggling to breathe. Obviously I sit straight down and start deep breaths and fanning my face.

A bloke opposite (with a toddler) starts pointing and loudly exclaiming "look she's going to drop right here! Stand back everyone! There's going to be sick and blood everywhere!"

Cue stares from everyone within a ten metre radius and me bursting into tears. I had nobody with me and felt pretty shit.

What a dickhead, right?!

I hope that you feel a little bit better soon.
Yes, that man was an arsehole, shouting about but not helping is definitely arseholian behaviour.
But, I am more surprised that you had no assistance from the staff at Morrisons. I'd be inclined to contact them via Facebook and express your disappointment that no one came to your aid. I'd also enquire if they have first aiders on duty in case it happens to another pregnant woman. Hopefully you'll get an apology, if not a voucher might make up for Mr Arsehole.

Spider I drove myself here so I think I'm going to stay and do the bare minimum. I'm self employed so thankfully I can do as much or as little as I like. I can crack on with some computer based tasks and admin Confused

Awful! Do get yourself checked out. Bp, iron etc. As a direct result of what you wrote flossie i was about to pop out to the supermarket but have just sat down to have something to eat and drink before hand something i would never have done a few weeks before. Try and go home as soon as possible and let dh cook and wait on you tonight after you got checked out xxx

What an arse.

I had a similar thing at a similar stage and collapsed getting off the bus near Holborn. The lovely lovely chaps at Hiba Express ran over to help and insisted on me sitting in their restaurant with a bottle of water (it was late summer) until I felt okay again.

Oh Flossies that sounds awful, what a horrible man. I'm disgusted that nobody helped you!! Please call your midwife for advice and take care of yourself Flowers

It's totally different but you've reminded me of when my elderly (and wonderful) grandmother fell over leaving a shop a few years ago. She broke her nose and had a huge gash over her eyebrow. She walked out of the shopping parade and then home (about a 5 minute walk). She was seen falling over and stumbling down the street covered in blood by numerous people, and was ignored by every single one of them. I'm so angry just thinking about it now.

I had a similar thing happen in the queue in a shop whilst heavily pregnant, I quickly put the stuff I was holding down, ran out of the shop and sat on a bench breathing deeply and trying to stop the dizziness. Another person from the queue came out to check I was okay, having bought me a bottle of water!
I'm Shock that nobody helped you, not even members of staff? That's really shite. I hope you're feeling better now. Flowers

Angry Wish people were more courteous and caring than just having a good gork Hmm
Ffs what's wrong with some people. You don't just leave an individual on the floor or one who is clearly in distress.
I would have helped you Flossies, as would all of us here I'm certain of it.

Reminds me of that Nelson Muntz character of the Simpsons (if anyone know who I am talking about). The boy who always points and goes HAHA at everyone's misfortunes. How childish and what a bad example to his kids.

Fortunately later this year you'll be free of the condition making you have funny turns. He on the other hand will probably be a dick for life.

So sorry no-one helped you. The man was a prize arse. I had something very similar happen at work, although I actually passed out entirely.

Worth a chat to the midwife, and she may want to monitor baby just to be certain all is well. And yy to the good advice up thread about snacks, drinks and taking it easy. Flowers too you

He's a arse hole and Morrison's staff aren't far behind him either. Not even attending to you. Yes I know it's a supermarket not a hospital. Howver, They could have got you a cold cloth, and made a fuss of you and tried to establish if you needed medical attention.

He was very rude and a knob!
So nobody asked you if you was ok, staff? Other shoppers? What is wrong with people, a second to ask if you was ok wouldn't of taken much.

Defiantly start carrying snacks with you, i had to in my last pregnancy it helps if you start to feel dizzy. I also had to eat something every 2-3 hours to help prevent feeling dizzy and ill.

Look after youself today, don't do too much Flowers

What a tosser. I had the same experience on a bus. I was turfed out of a seat at 8 months gone, and came over all dizzy. I sat down in the buggy/wheelchair bit. Exdp (sitting in the priority area) had a hissy fit because I was making a fool of myself. You did the right thing sitting down. If you'd of struggled on, you could of fainted and hit something on the way down. The correct response would of been to tell a member of staff to get a first aider.. not take the piss.

Knob. Hope you are ok OP
Once when my sister was having an epileptic fit in town a bloke stood right next to us and just kept laughing and asking me what she'd been taking.
Another time in happened in a changing room of a clothes shop. DSIS had been trying jeans on and the fitting room assistant just kept saying how she'd have to pay for the jeans if she pissed in them.

Have to say though, not sure it's a morrisons management thing but last time I went there baby was screaming had to go to toilets to breastfeed, and I had over 5 disgusting men coming in the toilet which I had to scream at so that they leave
Full of staff outside the toilets and they didn't do anything... Disgusting never went there again

I fell over in Waitrose yesterday and the staff just looked at me.

Hmph.

You'd expect Waitrose of all places to pick you up, give you a big hug and send you on your way with some Prestat chocs and 1 kg of Iberico ham.
