Got obsessed DP insists on naming one of our 2 girk kittens Stark

I was happy to compromise and name her Arya but he's having none of it.

Handing over the naming of your cats to family members is a dodgy business. That's why I have a cat named after a Transformer.

Aww I had a cat called Frank. Our other cat was Nancy. Both now sadly deceased 😣

I have 3 girl cats who need names (ferals - Mum and her 2 daughters) - who we inherited when we lived house...becoming increasingly less feral by the day).

One of mine is definitely more of a Bolton than a Stark though

Got to roll off the tongue easily. I called my black female cat Hecate, but it always seemed a bit awkward saying it. Changed her name after about a week.
There's a cat in my street called Zeus. Its a timid tabby and the most un Zeus like cat you could imagine.

You can't call her Stark, terrible things happen to Starks! Everyone knows that! Ghost would be cool. That direwolf's badass. Nymeria would go well with it - Nym if it's too much of a mouthful, it's an established shortening in the books if I recall correctly (for the human character of the same name, not the direwolf, but still).

My all black cat is named after (Mr) Darcy. He's a proud bugger so it suits him very well!

I'm happy with Nymeria. I'll most definitely shorten it to Nym but that's better than some of the others he was suggesting! I think it suits her

Can't do Stark. That's just tempting fate that something will happen...Although on one stark woman has kicked the bucket so...hmm...I just asked hubby and he said no. Should be Lannister or Targaeryn. They're surviving a little better.

I thought it was a Marvel related name (Tony Stark, AKA Ironman) so I don't think it's an unreasonable name at all. Why do the pet names need to match?

That's a great name. My next dog will be "Jon Stark" and there'll be no discussion on the matter
