Got obsessed DP insists on naming one of our 2 girk kittens Stark Hmm

I was happy to compromise and name her Arya but he's having none of it.

AIBU to refuse??

I've got a dog named after Boba Fett.

I could well imagine Avengers mad dd wanting to make a pet Start (more likely to be Arrow or Flash though)

Balletgirlmum · 19/05/2016 13:11

Stark even.

Goingtobeawesome · 19/05/2016 13:12

Your cat doesn't have to match his cats name Confused.

ceebie · 19/05/2016 13:13

You HAVE to name the other cat Naked.

viviennewestood · 19/05/2016 13:20

I actually suggested Winter but he doesn't like it Sad I just think Stark sounds too masculine for a petite little girl kitten!

I love Holly Golighty's idea of naming her cat. And I also like Tiffany (Tiff for short) for the one in naming Grin

They're sisters which is why I wanted their names to kind of go together

Cersei sounds like it could be a cat's name and is from GoT.

I just googled its origin and Circe is a minor Ancient Greek goddess/nymph/enchantress who murders her husband and is forced to live in solitude. Sounds ideal for a cat to me Grin

EmNetta · 19/05/2016 13:24

Definitely looks like a "Spot" to me

andintothefire · 19/05/2016 13:34

Actually I do like the suggestion of calling them after the direwolves. Nymeria is a lovely name.

5Foot5 · 19/05/2016 13:43

I hate matchy pet names

Yes you always then end up with some inappropriate pairing when one dies and you get a replacement:

Bubble and Snowy
Ebony and Smudge

that sort of thing

MyKingdomForBrie · 19/05/2016 13:48

He has named his cat, tough!

Just forget about his name and enjoy naming yours. Ours are completely unmatching named brothers and the names now just feel like they go together because the kits are such a pair!

NameChange30 · 19/05/2016 13:52

Omg she is so cute! I think "Stark" is to harsh a name for her. Tbh I think it was a mistake to say that you and DH could name one each. Ideally you'd both agree on both names. Why don't you each think of a few names for each cat, and then see which names you both like?

NameChange30 · 19/05/2016 13:53

(Oh and if you're going to use any names from GoT, you should at least watch a few clips on YouTube so you know who on earth your darling cat is named after.)

wasonthelist · 19/05/2016 13:54

Good grief

Lorsaidthedean · 19/05/2016 13:56

You are getting off lightly. DH insisted on calling out cat Lemmy,I wanted to call him Andrea.

Janeymoo50 · 19/05/2016 13:57

I had a Cagney and Lacey too!!! It was 1984 (ish).

BadDoGooder · 19/05/2016 14:02

IWILLgiveupsugar I must be out of touch too, as soon as I saw "Stark" I thought "Ben Elton fan"!! Grin

I like Stark, I think it's a cool name for a cat!

CatchIt · 19/05/2016 18:14

I'm trying to persuade my friend to call her Labrador puppy Reek. Grin

BuonoEstente · 19/05/2016 18:21

This may out me but I have a cat called Frank, I love people names on cats.

NameChange30 · 19/05/2016 18:22

I know someone with a cat called Frank! He is ginger. (The cat not the person!)

BuonoEstente · 19/05/2016 18:38

Ha ha your friend has great taste 😃. Mines black and the size of a panther.

BuonoEstente · 19/05/2016 18:39

Frank

viviennewestood · 19/05/2016 20:30

He's now suggested Ghost because apparently she looks like one.

In which case you could have your pick of the other Direwolf names for yours..

viviennewestood · 19/05/2016 20:54

Just had a quick Google of these direwolves. I like nymeria but it's a bit of a mouthful!
