To wonder how to teach myself to love exercising

As I frigging hate it. It's boring, sweaty and painful, what's to like?

Yet this is the only way to get the body of my dreams isn't it?

I think you need to find the exercise you like and you'll actively look forward to it. After my knee & hip went, during a long distance run, I discovered spinning & boot camp. They are now in the diary, I love the classes & have made done great friends along the way

Definitely try lots of different things.

I used to think I hated exercise because all I had ever tried was PE at school, so athletics (hate it), team sports (shit at them) and gymnastics (I did NOT like that)

After I left school I did no exercise for nearly 20 years, then somehow started weight lifting and I bloody love it, I wish I could do it every day!

I wish I had worked out before that there are thousands of ways to exercise, and it's not limited to running, cycling, etc

I struggle too. I do think it doesn't help that the only advice is keep trying. Which is good advice, but it would also be helpful if there were people that could also help you understand your own personal psychological barriers to exercising and help you work through them.

Maybe there are people our there. Sports psychologists or personal trainers perhaps? But then they are just for proper athletes and the wealthy, hey?

I know how you feel. I tried lots of different things - aerobics, squash, kickboxing, and even fooled myself into believing I enjoyed going for a run. I really didn't. I found all of those things extremely boring and one day I just said to myself, "fuck it," and I knocked the lot of them on the head.

I walk everywhere now. 20 mins to work, 20 mins back, and I will walk 15 mins to and from the shops after tea. I listen to podcasts and audio books on the way, its very relaxing and gives me a bit of head space. Maybe you could give that a go?
