To admit I don't think my baby is cute?

Had an HD scan this morning at 27 weeks.

Baby is all good, still a girl 😂 And weighing 2lb7.

But she looks like me 😩 She has my chin and nose, and she was frowning like her daddy. She didn't had cute chubby cheeks etc like my other two did on theirs.

She looks like she's gurning in every picture 😒
I'm awful aren't I. 😐

DS1 looked like an angry beetroot for about six months. He's a fine young man now, rocking the grunge look refusing to wash hair

DeadGood · 30/04/2016 15:06

Your baby will look nothing like the scan. Xx

BorisJohnsonsHair · 30/04/2016 15:08

She'll look cute when she's born I'm sure. With it being your third it reminded me of something someone once told me about when your child falls and cuts himself.

First child - you rush him to A&E
Second child - you kiss it better and put a plaster on it
Third child - you shout at him to stop dripping blood on the carpet
Grin
Maybe you reaction is a bit like this OP?? Congratulations and good luck with it all.

They did unfold, but it took a few months. If you look closely at them now you can still see they're not totally symmetrical, but you do have to look very close!

Never had a HD scan, but both of mine looked like angry prawns in their first 3 weeks or so. They were very tall, skinny babies. Then they plumped out and became gorgeous. They still are at 13 and 15. Still tall, though.

My second son looked like a potato

Crazyqueenofthecatladies · 30/04/2016 15:49

Dd was born at 27+3. She in no way looked like a baby, let alone 'her'. Her skin was livid red and see through, her eyes had only just unfused, she had no bum, and she was covered in dark hair, all down her back! It was shocking just to look at her, she looked more like a frog or fledgling crow than a child. I've never felt such a rush of love for anyone than I have for this wee scrap of humanity. Now she's five I wish she looked marginally less like my ex mil though Grin. Seriously though it's early, early days.

shonasybarbaric · 30/04/2016 16:03

She is still 'work in progress' in there. She is squished up, surrounded by water and will look very very different when she's born. A scan will gave you a very rough idea of what she looks like right now, but she has a lot of growing and changing still to do and I often think to about 6 weeks after birth a lot of babies look like angry goblins. Just getting born can do all sorts of things to a baby's appearance. They don't often come out looking ready to head off to the Oscars and take a while to unsquish.

Where do we think this one will end up? Daily fail or the Wright stuff? GrinWink

nagsandovalballs · 30/04/2016 16:30

My partner was the most God-forsAkingly revolting looking baby while his brother was so cherubic people used to ask his mother how she had had such a beautiful baby.

30 years later, guess who is short, bald, no chin? Yep, cherub boy. Guess who is chiselled and handsome? The troll-baby.

BirthdayBetty · 30/04/2016 16:32

I'm sure she'll be the most beautiful baby in the world when she arrives Smile
Cigars I love his ears, very quirky Grin

It's definitely got daily fail poaching potential has this thread, I agree doesanyonereadthesethings, In which case - bog off you lot and go write a proper article you lazy gits. Taking screenshots isn't journalism.

TooGood2BeFalse · 30/04/2016 17:18

First pic is DS now aged 4 at 21 weeks. The second is DS2 also at 21 weeks (am now 29 weeks) :-) I was pretty freaked by the 3D and 4D scans, they both looked demonic to me.

DS was a elf-like wrinkly newborn despite being full term by EMCS. He is really absolutely beautiful, nothing like me and my husband who are Fairly Average Joes. I really wouldn't worry OP!

VagueIdeas · 30/04/2016 17:19

All babies look kind of ugly in 4D scans. Don't worry!
