I'm by no means an anti vaxxer, dc has had all of the standard jabs so far, just turned 12 months old so it's time for the MMR, have an appointment booked for it next week, just can't stop feeling twitchy about it.

Would really love to hear opinions on it, or of any up to date reports on its effects, I've scoured the web but can't find anything other than the standard NHS type advice.

ItsLikeRainOnYourWeddingDay I specifically wanted the opinions of other parents, I know exactly what a health care professional would have to say thank you very much, no need to be so rude, there always does have to be one goady fucker on a thread...

DS2, born 1992, has ASD, and when DS3 was born 7 years later I refused the MMR. NOT because I thought it caused autism, but because he had reacted really badly to every other immunisation he had. Each time, DS3 was hospitalised with convulsions due to high temp etc. The HV at the time assumed that as I already had a child with ASD I was refusing due to the scaremongering, and refused the referral to the vac clinic.

I ended up having him have the single vacs privately. All of my DS's had all the vac's, only DS3 reacted badly.

Last year, DS3 was due his boosters, he is now 16 years old. We all thought that the baby vac's and effects, would not matter.

Guess what. Within 4 hours of each one, he had a temp of 40 degrees. And was very ill for at least 3 days.

I am very pro-vac, but I do think that some people have an extreme reaction to vac's that should be much more diligently researched and not dismissed as parental anxiety.

Oh, BTW, DS3 is not ASD.
