Posting this in a moment of rage so excuse any errors.

So sick of dp and his absolute stupidity he's just ruined his new trainers by spilling heating oil on them. He's ruined other items of clothing usually through painting in them why can't he just throw on something old to do this shit.

Aibu to say I'm not buying you anymore new clothes (or bloody anything because he puts nothing away when he's done with them, looses and breaks everything) from family money until you learn to take care of the things you have.

Since we have no money for a clothing budget, if DH trashed all his clothes in this manner he'd soon be walking about naked. That'd learn him!

The "it can be replaced" attitude is all fair and good if you actually have the money to do so. If you don't it's fucking irritating.

I'd set monthly budgets for each of you. And one for the children. Personal items come out of your own budget. If either of you ruins something of the others it gets replaced out of your own budget, and when you run out that's it til the next month.

He gave the trainers a good clean and they don't smell thankfully.

I was buying some things online and asked if he needed anything and he said yes some trainers he picked them and he loves them so that's why I was annoyed that he didn't think to put something old on.

I do pick up the odd thing for him usually when I'm getting the kids something I'll maybe see something he likes and buy it he has free reign to return it and I'd honestly prefer it if he said "Standing I'm not a fan of this could we return it please"
He knows that too I bloody hate waste.

I feel your pain posters I too have had to teach him to separate whites and I've had to stop buying bleach cleaners because he's ruined all my tea towels. Expensive tea towers that I bought because he told me I bought shite ones. Oh I was Angry
