To say what's the big deal about trolls?

Since they thrive off attention, why do people keep creating separate threads and getting upset about them? Obviously if something isn't true, why do you need to get annoyed about it? So what if something is a story, I don't see the issue. You could help someone else in the long run.

Like that thread about teenage pregnancy etc, why do people get worked up?

Same goes for the thread yesterday about her boyfriend putting her baby in a pickle jar.

Passme for me, what I find the most hurtful is how future posters will now miss out when they could be getting life changing support. All because someone is afraid to open up again, which is beyond understandable of course.

I for one can say first hand how much difference Mumsnet can make to someone who needs help - emotionally or practical advice, anything.

Why indeed? Hmm

HackerFucker22 · 07/04/2016 19:25

How many weeks pregnant are you op and why aren't you with the dad? Just being nosy!!

Sparklingbrook · 07/04/2016 19:26

Yes, there is that Well.

Kateontheweight · 07/04/2016 19:28

Well this isn't a thread to poke about the details as such. I can't see a troll getting much of a kick out of this.. Very bland.

Hacker I'm 5 weeks.. I've left because he is a buffoon Brew

Umm Kate, you may discover (once you've been here a while longer) that there is a quite prolific PBP/Troll who is a 'daughter using her mums account'. She's been deleted and banned a number of times because she always slips up in the end.

Maybe keep that in mind Smile

Kateontheweight · 07/04/2016 19:30

Agh, I get that I have started another thread about them - I was just wondering about some things.

I do apologise. Hopefully it doesn't get trolled

OP posts:
Thornrose · 07/04/2016 19:31

So why have you started a separate thread about trolling? Confused

Kateontheweight · 07/04/2016 19:32

Okay - I have clearly made myself look like a hypocritical idiot. I'm off

WellErrr · 07/04/2016 19:34

I thought you left because of domestic violence?

Trolls getting trolled?
I believe that's what the young people refer to as "meta".

ElderlyKoreanLady · 07/04/2016 19:41

I like the idea of trolls getting trolled. Maybe they'll cancel each other out or self destruct.

If it's a stupid or funny story that's been trolled I get your point. But when people come on here pretending theyve had children that had died or that they've been beaten by their partners ect. Then that is sickening, especially when it's brought up emotive feelings with posters.
However trolls are more to be pitied.

Why do I have to include that I was abused on a thread not relating to my personal one?

OP posts:
ElderlyKoreanLady · 07/04/2016 19:45

Doing yourself no favours Kate. Posting a thread to discuss trolling that criticises posters who post threads about trolling, in which you comment on trolls who pretend to be pregnant teenagers, despite claiming you're a pregnant teenager.
