I nominate NatWest for their new look complete with confusing banks of cash machines and loud music. (Also bad for hearing aid wearers).

Yes, I'm guessing with the sensory overload caused by his autism and the touch sensitivity from the dyspraxia, there are even more environments that are horrible for him.

These days he copes with a lot by having a little iPod Shuffle (I don't work for Apple, honestly!) and he listens to audiobooks, to drown things out. He also uses the when working so I have a very active Audible account!

Oddly, he is a huge fan of Dickens (king of the literary sensory overload?) which is something I cherish, having all those years when he struggled to read at all. Which I guess shows how bright he is, as my other son who was top of the year for English - in the year below - has never read a book since leaving school, and won't go near his brother's audiobooks, either...

But just an idea for some of yous with younger kids - they might enjoy some Harry Potter or similar, sometimes, to block out some of the stimuli.
