What mother of the groom think it's appropriate to totally steal the limelight from the bride by dancing a 7 minute dance with her son. Never mind the fact it's a cringe inducing Thriller/Gangnam style/moonwalking medley.

The groom wants a slap as well for agreeing to this. Bet the bride was well hacked off.

Sorry, it's a dm link for the dm haters.

My 'D'M wore a dress almost identical to the bridesmaids to DB's wedding. Same shape and colour but slightly different at the back so in the photos she def looks like an extra older BM. She knew what she was doing. She also went to the stag do rather than the hen night (same evening). DSIL is a darling and would never say anything. She deserves a medal for putting up with her I don't

Every single American wedding I have ever been to had some type of dance thing like this, either the mum and son or dad and daughter (usually something intended to be fashionable or funny) or the bride an groom (that one is usually very professional fancy style).

It's a thing and one some people obviously quite like

FarrowandBallAche · 29/03/2016 11:39

Maybe those MIL that do the dance thing with their sons have well adjusted DIL's and know that they won't have a slapped arse face for having 5 mins of fun?

Not my cup of tea but each to their own I guess.

Any bride obsessed with "the limelight" as you suggest would be a nightmare dil.
And a twat.

I have been to a wedding where the mil was letting out big giant sobs during the vows and I'm sure I've read on here about a mil snorting and crying "my baby boy". That's worse than cheesy dancingGrin

MrsJayy · 29/03/2016 14:15

My mil was a mare at her eldest sons wedding she was sobbing that her boy had left her then had faked an angina attack so other son (dh) would take her to hospital our wedding she didnt bother her arse crying because it wasnt a proper wedding (register office)

It was an American wedding was it not? The groom and mother dance is a thing in America

Yes, it is. Also these people are from Georgia. I'm from Georgia. In the South, we love our mamas. Some of y'all really need to lighten up. Smile

I think it's a bit mean having a pop at the mother
