to think these dolls are going to kill me?

I'm working away in Switzerland at the moment. This afternoon I take baby (Nanny) for a nice peaceful stroll through the streets of the quaint Swiss city.
We walk down one of the dodgier streets that connects the park to the town centre, I'm pretty sure it's the red light district judging by the shop fronts but during the day it's perfectly safe if a bit vomit inducing.
Tucked into the corner of a window ledge there's a sign that reads "Free" (in German) and a collection of the creepiest fricking dolls I've ever seen.
Now I'm not stupid, I know that if I'd taken them they'd murder me in my sleep at 33 minutes past 3 in the morning. I couldn't help but take a photo though.

AIBU to think I've witnessed the start of a horror film? Or that perhaps even taking a photo has got me caught up in one? Grin

I'll add the photonion here for the rest of you Grin sharing is caring and all that!

Ps. I also happen to be the Nanny that survived the Bloodman in Colorado a few years back, if anyone remembers that...

to think these dolls are going to kill me?

BlueRaptor I'm...lucky? Maybe. Or just living out a very drawn out version of Final Destination.

I was on the blood man thread. Twas brilliant. You do seem to attract a certain amount of woo OP Grin

NotAnotherNameChangeAgain · 23/03/2016 17:38

So I sent the photo to my boyfriend, who was suitably horrified.
But after he got over the shock he then suggests we go bloody camping this weekend.
CAMPING.
I replied "you want to add darkness and TENTS to this situation?!"

We've not been seeing each other long. He doesn't even know about the Bloodman yet...

Now I want to read the blood man thread. Someone please link? Please.....?

And OP! You need a trigger warning in that title. There's clowns!!

curls into a ball in the corner muttering about scary, bewigged, painted faces and shuddering

steff13 · 23/03/2016 17:40

YANBU, all dolls want to kill you. The general "you," not you personally, OP.

NotAnotherNameChangeAgain · 23/03/2016 17:41

Posting the Blood Man link again for those that missed it RedRainRocks looking at you

BLOOD MAN LINK IS HERE!!!

Grin Ah...memories...

And steff13 these kind of things happen a lot. It's starting to get personal...

OK... Have finished reading between tea and toddler bedtime etc.
Shock
You are lucky to be alive!

HungryHorace · 23/03/2016 19:18

I did think about Final Destination when I posted, but decided not to suggest it...at least you're considering it as a viable option yourself!

I don't think camping would work for you, I have to say. Grin

VelvetCushion · 23/03/2016 19:23

Blimey OP. You attract weirdness

BettyEasterBunny · 23/03/2016 19:49

I swear those dolls are haunted Shock

NotAnotherNameChangeAgain · 23/03/2016 20:20

My Mum has just said to me that she thinks the dolls are actually the people that lived in that house who have been trapped forever in toy form.

So she's really helpful and reassuring.

OP posts:
BettyEasterBunny · 23/03/2016 20:22

Grin she's got a point....

SecretWitch · 23/03/2016 21:10

My friend has a Spanish doll she must keep in a glass or it moves about the house She is always trying to make me sleep in the same room with it when I visit!

VenusInFauxFurs · 23/03/2016 21:28

I just read the whole of the Bloodman thread. It was almost certainly pipes banging, and creaky new house sounds and expandy snow prints looking bigger than they are.

Still scared the shit out of me, though.

ILikeUranus · 23/03/2016 21:43

Aw they look really cute - and someone lovely is giving them away for poor children who live there. That's lovely! Can you tell I don't watch horror films?! I like woo threads though.

RaskolnikovsGarret · 23/03/2016 21:45

OP, your thread was the first one I ever read, and got me addicted to MN, so I have fond memories of you. Great to hear from you again!

MrsTerryPratchett · 23/03/2016 21:46

Haven't read TFT but look at what my FIL thought was an appropriate toy for DD, WHO IS 5!

PippaMiddletonsSkis · 23/03/2016 21:49

Well I'm not going to sleep tonight ..........

NotAnotherNameChangeAgain · 23/03/2016 21:51

Another theory (of my Mother's) is that they murdered the family from that house and are looking for their next victims... like vampires they need to be invited in first...

Off to bed now... if I hear 3 knocks on the window tonight then I will truly lose my marbles. sobs

Woo follows you around the world, op!

Just promise me you'll never visit a little market town in the North of England.

RumbleMum · 23/03/2016 23:02

YANBU. Grin

There are actual guides to buying haunted dolls on eBay. Highly entertaining reading.

NotAnotherNameChangeAgain · 23/03/2016 23:13

Right. So that was a great read just before bed
I'm not completely bricking it now. Oh no.

Jellybeam · 23/03/2016 23:23

What are these dolls? They're adorable, I'd like some myself.

BettyEasterBunny · 24/03/2016 00:27

Rumble just read that link to haunted dolls. Not the best move when you're working a night shift Shock
